Anybody feel like the whispers explanation seemed a little forced?

Also I seriously that's not how Desmond is gonna go out. For some reason I always forget if he is a candidate.

yeah, the whispers we basically "told to us" as opposed to us finding out through storytelling like the statue, smoke monster,etc so it was a bit different.

I didn't recognize the wily wanka song. i thought the song was weird, but this obviously has some meaning to it. we will see. I am totally not looking forward to the week off lost is taking, at the same time though, itll give me another week to talk lost before its gone forever.

That theory about Love being a major theme totally makes sense.

Jack-Kate: Married, on and off again, in limbo.
Sawyer-Juliet: No explanation needed.
Hurley-Libby: Saw it last night, their love transcends the two lines.
Jin-Sun: Obvious
Ben-Daughter: Still a form of love.
Desmond-Penny: Duh.

I'm sure you can find more.

I'm not sure about the Jack-Kate one though. Kate meets Sawyer in the alternate. If it's Kate-Sawyer then Jack is left alone.

He seems to be the obvious replacement for Jacob.

So the whispers are dead people trapped on the island for what they did ... don't tell me you are going that way.

Tell us about the boy. I don't know if he is Jacob or some form oversight of the island. Basically you can't kill Jacob, he always comes back.

Will killing Desmond on the island stop him from reuniting everyone in the alternate reality? If he reunites everyone, does he stop what is happening now and the plane doesn't have to crash for the outcome to be the same and the realities to merge?

Looks like only the people who are dead on the island reality are able to remember. Then they can help the other person to remember. Maybe the candidates are the only ones who can remember afterward.

The boy in last night's episode was a different boy than the previous episodes. I'm guessing the first one was Jacob (blonde hair) and last night's was Smokey (he had dark hair).

Amazing episode.

I would absolutely love it if, on the Island, Jack is forced with the decision to kill "Locke," but in the alt-timeline, Jack is the one to save Locke (since Locke is headed to the hospital, have to assume Jack will be the surgeon somehow).

Great episode last night. The ending was surreal and it sets up for a great ending.

I found it to be forced in the same way that I found the numbers explanation thus far(they might go deeper into it in the future) to be forced. I actually liked the way it was told to us, but I just don't think the explanation itself made much sense. We've heard the whispers many times before, and it was normally before the others came or some sort of attack/ambush happened.

Yes we've heard them with Christian posing to be Jacob, but it's not like Christian died on the island, his dead body was just brought to the island. I might be missing something here, but it just seemed like an elementary explanation just to tie up some loose ends.

They could have been trying to warn them. So, are we led to believe that Locke isn't Locke in the alt timeline, too?

Yeah but it might be with someone OFF the island? Maybe Juliet?

He seems to be the only major player without Love in his story right now. Points more towards a Jacob/watcher role for him.

I want to know how Desmond figured out who Locke was. In his near-death experience, did he see Locke?

I'm also on board with those that think Jack will save him. And probably cure his paralysis too.
