Does anyone else have a USB port in their car that allows you to listen to an iPod or another media device through your car stereo?

It seems that if I set my Droid in to mass storage mode and connect to my car stereo, it'll allow me to stream music through my phone but I can only read the files through my headset unit instead of through my actual Droid interface.

Anyway, it seems like when I scroll through all my music files everything seems to be out of order even though everything is tagged properly along with proper track numbers. It's really weird.

I was just wondering if anyone else experienced this and if they had figured out a workaround to let you scan through your music library in proper order.

You don't need a USB port, just a standard 3.5mm jack will do. I listen to music all the time from my Nexus. I have a feeling that I'm not understanding you properly though

I have an aux jack, but from what I've been reading about on some Droid forums, the aux jack isn't that solidly implemented. My jack isn't loose yet, but I don't want to plug it and unplug it everytime I get in and out of my car throughout the day.

It's no biggie, I can still listen to it through the USB, just was wondering it their was an easier way to navigate through my music files.

Meh I am really not awed by the HTC Droid Incredible. It really just a Nexus 1 with a better camera.

yea im not the biggest fan of the overall look of the incredible. reminds me of the instinct by samsung (but on 'roids). Im still holdin out for that nexus 1 haha... anyday now...

Meh I am really not awed by the HTC Droid Incredible. It really just a Nexus 1 with a better camera.

I believe it has a bit more memory and the sites that have played with it have been extremely impressed with it's interface.

Yeah I have the iPod connector in my 09 328i. When I connected my iPhone to both the 3.5mm and the usb, it showed up as ipod and everything was in the same order as it was on the phone.

However now with a droid...since you are mounting the sd card to the usb interface you wont be able to access the sd card on the phone so you can't control the music from the phone. I do it through the car stereo.

But like you, on the car sterio when i view all songs, they are in no particular order. so if i want to find a song, I have to scroll through artists rather than songs. which sucks because if i want it to be on shuffle, it will only shuffle that artists songs.

No idea how to get around this, other than just controlling it from the phone rather than from the car stereo by connecting it with a 3.5mm jack (and still connect usb to charge, just dont mount the sd card.) I've only had the droid for about 2 weeks now, I havent really messed with it to see if i can get all songs to be in the correct order. I'll let you know if I find any work arounds.

ok so after further review the incredible is pretty sweet. thing is super fast and takes some good pics. didnt get too into it but i like what i saw so far!

Ok so according to the powers that be........Nexus One for Verizon was scrapped. Instead Verzion tells its customers just get the Incredible instead.

I bought a Droid back in Nov. I went to Verizon today to get have my work discount applied to my bill and while I was there I asked if my wife was eligible for a phone upgrade.
The salesperson said both my ME AND MY WIFE were eligible for upgrades.

This ever happen to anyone?

Nope...I'm assuming you bought your Droid with a contract? If so I'd just go ahead and upgrade and sell your old Droid, they're buy one get one free right now too.

Nope. They won't upgrade my wife at all, but I can get an upgrade. I'm leaving Verizon in December when my contract is up and never going back after what I dealt with them over the last few weeks. Some of the worst customer service I've ever dealt with. Including having a rep tell me that "if I was smart, I'd cancel and go to AT&T". Yeah, great service. I love how that Droid Incredible looks as well, but not getting it if I can't get my wife a phone as well.
