2.2 is going to be announced officially next week, and will be on the nexus eventually. rumor has it the evo4g will also be released with 2.2, but we'll see. it's not coming out next week and definitely not on the droid.

Yep. The Nexus will get all of the updates first. The Droid just got 2.1 not too long ago, so it'll be a while before Droid users get it.

Kevin Rose of Diggnation dissed the Incredible very hard on his show. Saying it felt cheap and Android sucks because none of the apps do anything perfectly or as smoothly as the I-phone apps do. However he does like the camera on the Incredible though.

But anyway........Android 2.2 with Flash suppose to be coming out next week to the Droid.

If he literally said Android sucks (or anything amounting to that), I wouldn't listen to this guy's opinion.. Someone may prefer iPhone, that's fine, but to say Android sucks is ridiculous.

I also don't get the "feels cheap" part. My wife has one and nothing about the build strikes me a cheap.

Kevin Rose is a classic case of that guy who knows a lot...about the things he likes, but if something outside of his scope comes around it automatically "sucks" I remember watching him on TechTV back in the day, he's always kind of been a douche like that. It doesn't surprise me that he'd say things like that about android considering what a huge iphone fanboy he is.

the htc evo 4g already has flash on it. They showed it when they ran their speed test. That particular speed test website uses flash and it won't even begin the test unless you have flash.

Far as Kevin Rose.........he's always been a boy genusis his whole life and is a self made multi-millionaire. Too bad his smarts ran off his fine wife he once had though LOL.

senseUI has flash lite in it, so the evo, incredible, eris, etc all have "flash", but 2.2 is going to have full fledged flash 10.1

my only gripe on the incredible is battery life sucks. Not too fond how the camera lense sticks out too, not sure who designed that.

I bought the Seidio slim extended battery and after some testing, I find it to be doing a great job. I used to be coming home and I'd be in the red. But after working yesterday from 11-9 and using it heavily (Slow day at work, doing a lot DLing apps on a 3G signal, a good amount of internet browsing etc.) I had around 45%. I came back home after getting some drinks around 2 am, with some light use in the meantime, and still had around 30% until I killed it listening to Slacker before I fell asleep.

FYI: Screen was set to 50% brightness, GPS on, wifi off when I didn't need it.


The battery has definitely gotten better after charging it and draining it a few times. I think it's def worth the 50 bucks or so for those who want the piece of mind of your phone not dying.

from what I understand you can also just buy a $15 TP2 1500mah battery and it'll work in the incredible. My battery life with the stock is fine though so I haven't felt the need to upgrade.

Well yeah using internet radio, youtube, etc will definitely kill the battery. And having GPS on will kill it too. I don't ever have GPS on.

Seidio extended batteries are phenomenal. If you're feeling stuck with a terrible battery, don't hesitate to buy one from this group. I've used them for years and they are well worth their price.

Last for the 2 yrs or so you will have your phone as well.

They are really lacking in good quality games. Coming from the iPhone where there were a lot of great ones.

Try out Tower Raiders defense. (love this one)
A lot people like Bonsai Blast, too.

Yes, you can get a refund on all paid apps if you cancel within 24hrs.

Basically.........people who make apps for the Iphone are funded, well paid, so therefore they put out way better games and better apps too for the most part because of the depth of the quality control apple has.

On the Droid however.....most apps are made by college kids, not funded, no type of quality control at all.

On the Iphone.........it will take weeks if not a couple of months before an app gets approved to get put in their app store. On the Droid, I can make an app and have it in marketplace the next day, if not a few hours later of the same day.

Kevin Rose said it best. Apps on the Droid you can tell it was made by engineers, because it is designed rough and straight to the point. Where as apps on the Iphone are more user friendly.

I have used both phones. And it is true, alot of the apps on the Droid got these weird names to it and unless you have a techie background you don't know what the hell they talking about or what purpose does it serve. And a lof of the description on Droid apps aren't well written either.

Where on the Iphone, when you see an app, even the dumbest person who knows how to read can look at it and say oh it is to do this kind of thing. There is no doubt what the app is for.
