        WOW, pretty crazy.

I wanted one for the longest, not on sprint.

          Galaxy Nexus here.

Is there a way that I can stop the Google Play Store from running in the background?

I've had the extended battery for awhile now and even with that my battery gets drained rather easily. I think the culprit is that the Play Store is always running.

          Help/advice?

Don't think that is the issue. I just checked my battery info and Play isn't doing anything battery wise.

You may want to look into turning off your 4G. I've done that with mine and battery life seems much improved.

I currently have an Evo 4G and I can upgrade in a month and I haven't decided between the EVo 4G LTE or the SIII, any thoughts? I'm leaning towards the SIII right now.

You're not going to go wrong with either phone. There are pros and cons of each phone but it mostly comes down to personal preference.

A couple of us here went with the LTEvo, a couple others went with the S3.

Personally, I was up for an upgrade already and the S3 didn't have anything that stood out above the Evo to warrant waiting for it's release.

4G is off and I'm running on wi-fi for most of the day.

Galaxy Nexus battery just sucks. That's the common complaint. Your best bet is to root if you haven't already and find a good custom rom that gets good battery life.

I have an Evo 4G and am currently using the GSII. I will be picking up the SIII over the Evo LTE.

I guess the big decider for me will be battery life. Which one will have a better one? Or is the SIII not known yet?

first off, only keep wifi on if you're in an area where you're connected. if you leave it on all day while you're out it's gonna kill your battery looking for networks. make sure you're gps/bluetooth is off if you're not using those. if you have the facebook app, go to settings and set it to refresh less often or manually. I've also found that signing out of google talk, which it automatically signs you in to, can help as well. and like it was stated before, root that ish, get yourself a custom rom and kernel.

with all that said, your battery life will still suck haha. mine does, but I love this phone.

SIII battery is getting good reports with the 2100 mAh battery. Evo is getting good reports also with the 1800 mAh battery. The drawback with it is that it's non-removable and the SIII battery is.

The EVO has a 2000 mAh battery, not a 1800. I read all over the place that non-removable is an issue but why? How many people go out and buy back up batteries and an external charger? When I'm getting a couple days out of this battery I don't see an issue.

With a removable battery if it goes bad, you just replace it. With non-removable you are effed and have to go through the process of having to take it in to get replaced.
