Re: Official Android Discussion Thread
Long time since I posted here. Sold my Note 4 and have Nexus 6P. Love it so far.

Re: Official Android Discussion Thread
Switched over to the Note 5 from my Lenovo. Love it, amazing phone and the camera is ridiculous but the battery life sucks. I came from a phone that had a 4000 mah battery so I have to get used to charging it throughout the day but the fast charging is amazingly fast so I'm it'll be fine if not out all the time.Comment

Re: Official Android Discussion Thread
My Nexus 6p came in on Tuesday and I got it activated at Verizon no problem immediately. The phone is sweet, and the battery life is incredible for me! Doze in Android Marshmallow is no joke!
I charge my phone using quick charge before going to bed and took it off the charger 11 hours ago. Battery is currently at 95%. I can now do a normal day's worth of stuff on it for me, and due to not draining as much during idle times, I'm sitting about 40% at the end of the day. I used to charge my Note 3 here and there during the day to get me through it.
It's just a little narrower and taller than my Note 3, but it's also a little thinner, and just great to hold in the hand. This is my first Nexus phone (I've had 2 Nexus tablets), so I'm happy to finally be on the front end of Android and not be at the mercy of manufacturers and carriers to get updates out in a timely manner.XBox Gamertag: djbeth77

Re: Official Android Discussion Thread
I'm not sure how much experience you have with Android or what devices you've used, but once you've used stock Android its extremely difficult to use the versions that Samsung/LG/whoever throws on their phones. They're usually noticeably slower and have tons of extra apps you'll never use that just take up space. I've used my 2013 Nexus 5 next to a Note 4, and the Note 4 was actually slower, even though its specs are considerably better. Thats what Samsung does to Android.
I think the Nexus line had two big weaknesses that have been corrected this year: Camera and battery life. The camera in both the 5X and 6P is really good, right up there with the top cell phone cameras. I can't personally speak for the 6P, but the 5X has excellent battery life, WAY better than the Nexus 5.
Another important factor to consider is price. If you compare the 5X or 6P to any other "flagship" phone, the price is way better. Especially now that people are more aware of how much they're actually paying for their phones.
Receiving new versions of Android right away rather than having to potentially wait months is another nice thing about using the Nexus line.
I'm sure there are other things I'm forgetting, but thats just some stuff to consider off the top of my head.Comment

Re: Official Android Discussion Thread
The battery life on my 6P has been nothing short of amazing. Doze is the real deal for Android and it makes it seem closer to how the iPhone battery has been (I got to see my wife's iPhone battery hardly drain while my Note 3 just slid closer and closer to zero while doing nothing...not any more!).XBox Gamertag: djbeth77

How's the camera? I'm coming from an iPhone 6 and want to try something new. It's between this nexus 6p and the note 5..

Re: Official Android Discussion Thread
Thanks for he response. I've read online that it indeed does have a great camera. I haven't had an android phone since the evo on sprint years ago. Just undecided between the 6P and the note 5.. I wonder if the note 5 still chugs sometimes like galaxies are known to do?
