Re: Looking for a new TV, suggestions?

Bought a 32' 1080p 60hz Insignia from Best Buy with my employee discount for my bedroom and love it. Retails normally for $499. The 120hz is $599 but for a bedroom 60hz's works.

Calling Direct TV for another HD box tomorrow.

not sure, it's not even listed on BestBuy or Dell at all. Like it doesn't exist.

Wasn't it last year's model? It's why they were blowing it out to make room for newer models, I presume?

I was very satisfied with vizio, cheaper and picture was always fine. I just got my sharp 47" inch 120 hz tv from new egg (black friday deal 699) and my goodness. Best tv I've seen in person.

If you can hold out, I bet there will be amazing deals after Christmas.

I don't think it'll be as big a discount as Black Friday, but there are usually deals on older models around Super Bowl time. That's usually when the newest models come out so they have to sell the previous years inventory to make room.

Have fun. It took me about 30 minutes to hook my tv up to the surround sound system. 20 minutes of that was running wires through a small hole in the back of my tv stand. Pain in the .......

WOW, returning this Sony Set I bought back to Dell. Very disappointed, The white ghosting in the corners and the light red flashing is very, very noticeable. I very upset at this pint that I have to go through the returning process. I will honeslty say that I have never been so disappointed in a product before.

I already ordered the Set that I really wanted from sears and hope to pick it up tonight, it's a LG Plasma, on sale this week. This was the orinal Set I wanted, when I wanted it it wasn't in stock, so then I seen the sale for the Sony thinking I had a great deal.

I have a good past with LG, so I trust there products, Sony let me down on this Set.

No TV is ever going to be perfect man. I bet the plasma ends up having something that you will also dislike at the end of the day. My rule of thumb with certain electronics like a TV, I would go to the store first and look before buying even online.

Oh and football, one more thing man. If you go reading all the problems that people are reporting on AVS taking them as face value, you are already setting yourself up with disappointment. I think that this is what you have done to yourself here. You should see the problems people have had with my TV on AVS, but in no way does it take the enjoyment out of mine. I do have a problem with my TV, but I haven't seen anyone else complain about it and it is the silk screen effect. I hope you are happy with the Plasma because those also have their own set of problems vs. LCD's.

hey whats up, man you don;t know how upset I was with the clouding corners of the set and the red flash flickering, I guess this is why this set was cut so low. I did see this et in store and you can;t really notice it when is hanging around 50 other sets I guess.

I went and Got my 50" LG Plasma that I wanted it originally, I jumped on that sony because I thought I was getting a great price, maybe I was but for a average set. The LG I got tonight is amazing, I should have went with the LG from the start, the CRT in my bedroom is going strong 5 years later. I'm very happy Now, very.

Loving my new set, I so shocked I never bought a Plasma sooner, I love it because it gives a close picture to what my LG CRT HDTV gives, which is great.
