I'll miss him if he really quits. I think he's a very good actor, and is a really funny guy. And really talented - he's done some great skits on SNL. One in particular I remember he did I think was called "The Mimic"; didn't realize he could mimic different people so well. While he does come off as something of an azz at times, I really like him on 30 Rock and when he appears on Bill Maher. And he's done a ton of movies lately - maybe he is ramping up to quit

Thing is, I bet his time on 30 Rock will elevate his movie career."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Anyone else remember when he yelled at his kid and then he was all of a sudden going to quit acting? He's done this before. I think that was between seasons 1 and 2 of 30 Rock.Member: OS Uni Snob Association | Twitter: @MyNameIsJesseG | #WT4M | #WatchTheWorldBurn

I remember-that was more a reaction to the embarrassment of the situation then anything else.Last edited by JayBee74; 12-01-2009, 10:46 PM.Comment

Where did everything go wrong? “On a television show, precise acting isn’t the order of the day,” he said to me. “It’s a sitcom. The idea is to hit certain beats, and we do it cleverly. But, you do a television show, you become a pastry chef. I’m a pastry chef now; I’m not the big chef at the big restaurant.

I think he's learned to accept it, but it still hits him hard.

LOL, and I actually like 2 1/2 Men when it doesn't get totally sophomoric and I think Sheen is a fine actor, but they don't ask him to do much.
As for the previews of Baldwin's upcoming movie I hope it kills at the box office (OK, I'm a 30 Rock and Baldwin fan), but on the surface there doesn't appear to be a lot of chemistry between Alec and Meryl.Comment
