Kutcher? I know I'm in the minority, but it might work. It's not like Sheen had to stretch any acting muscles playing Charlie Harper. Obviously Kutcher's role will be a brand new character, but it's not going to be Shakespearean.

I'm in the minority with you, it seems, as I think Kutcher makes it a much more appealing show than Hugh Grant or Jeremy Piven would've. Both of those, more than likely, would've seemed too much like a direct replacement of Sheen. Kutcher should at least bring a different character into the fold.

Not to mention I actually find him funnier than Sheen, but that's because I didn't really find Sheen funny before all of this happened, and since I've been incredibly soured on him.

I'm just glad it's not Hugh Grant.

Thanks gents for the props for "my" reworking of the show, but...

          It's...

          Kutcher?

Who knows, maybe they'll come up with a great character / inspired writing and surprise us all...

Then again, it just may turn out to be that inevitable "jump the shark" time that pretty much all long running shows end up at...

I found Kelso funny in that 70's show but I wonder what sort of character they will try to make AK into for this one?

They would be better just going in a different direction alltogether imo rather than just trying to make Kutcher play a charlie like character.

Yeah, Kelso was awesome (so was That 70's Show until Eric left...ugh), but just judging from Ashton Kutcher's ****ty movies, I'm not looking forward to this at all.

Depending on how they play this I personally think it could be a great choice. Casting him as the same character would be a disaster, but there are other ways this could definitely work.

TV is different. Plenty of funny TV stars make crappy movies.

                  I'll give it a chance.

I don't see how this is any worse than Sheen. Its not like Charlie was ever that funny in a movie either. He was in funny movies but he was never the funny guy in those movies.

A ******** chimp could fill in on this show and it would't miss a beat anyway with it's super simplistic writing. All you have to do is spout out a set up or a punchline ever other minute.

Maybe Kutcher will play the son of Charlie that he never knew he had.... I invision Charlie getting killed off by a crazy ex-"encounter" and Kutchers character showing up at the funeral. Who knows.

That could actually work extremely well, haha. As being his only(known) kid, he'd inherit everything he owned.

Yeah TV is a whole different ballgame from Movies so who knows, personally I've never watched much of the show besides an occassional bit every now and then. I feel ashamed of myself now because I never knew until a few days ago Ryan Stiles was in it and he's easily one of my favorite comedians ever.

I agree. We should all get together and start writing scripts.

I think Kutcher will be the long lost third brother. I mean, Evelyn has been married like 5 times? Very easy for her to have had another kid somewhere in there.
