Yeah. I feel like Sony cut out the "untold" story. If they keep their hands on the steering wheel then I guess the director really won't matter.

I thought the movie was great. Better than all the first 3. I actually enjoyed it more than dark knight rises. Really surprised they were able to pull of Lizard, I thought he would look ridiculous. And all the performances were great, even Leary, whom I've despised since those motor oil commercials.

Just saw it Friday night. I also liked it better than the first three and was a fan of the first two.

I thought the chemistry between Peter and Gwen was better than between Peter and Mary Jane. I also preferred Garfield's Peter/Spidey to Maguire's. I never thought I'd say that.

The Lizard was a great foe. I'd like to see Kraven the Hunter and another baddie in the next one.

          A thoroughly enjoyable movie.

I think the main criticism towards this film is that it is a reboot done so soon. In terms of the story/acting/etc... It would prob be much higher rated had there never been the Raimi films.

One thing my cousin couldn't stand was Spidermans little one liners while he was fighting... But I know that was part of his character in the cartoon/comics. So I thought it was Ok.

I wish they had continued the parents' angle into the second half of the movie. I also found the Uncle Ben scene to be somewhat anticlimactic, but I didn't think it took away from the film. In the end I felt like this didn't need to be an origin story.

                November 9th Blu-Ray/DVD release.

Think I'll just go with the Blu-Ray/DVD combo but that special edition with the Spider-Man and Lizard figures does look pretty nice.

Suggested retail of the 3D version at $55.99? Cool story, bro.

I'll probably save this one for the next DVD-to-Blu program that Best Buy will offer, assuming it is after the release of this. That is a poor assumption, though. I expect them to probably do it again around October, so I'll just have to pick the right opportunity for it.

Man, those figures look cool but too much for my liking. I would have maybe hopped on at around $40-50.

Yeah way too much, but it's because they threw in basically every single format of the movie possible in there. I'm surprised they didn't include a VHS version too.

Re: The Amazing Spider-Man (2012 film)

                          Great news.

Sony announced today that Marc Webb will reprise his directing duties for The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Webb's involvement had been in question due to some outstanding commitments he had with 20th Century Fox, but those appear to have been hashed out for the sake of retaining him for the sequel.

Star Andrew Garfield was also confirmed as returning to play Spidey, while the studio says Emma Stone is in talks to reprise her role as Gwen Stacy.

The screenplay is by Alex Kurtzman & Roberto Orci and Jeff Pinkner based on a previous draft by James Vanderbilt. The film will be produced by Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach.

“We could not be more confident in the direction we are taking this new Spider-Man storyline and we are tremendously excited to be ramping up production again with Marc at the helm and Andrew continuing on as Peter Parker. We can’t wait to share what we have in store for Peter and Spider-Man with audiences worldwide," said Doug Belgrad, president of Columbia Pictures, and Hannah Minghella, president of production for the studio, in a statement.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is slated for release in 3D on May 2, 2014.

Wow, less than two years. I sure hope the script is already well solidified.

I'm glad they got Webb back, but I hope it was under certain conditions that he has final say in the cut, as well as what's shown/not shown in the trailers.

Orci and Kurtzman sets off alarm bells in my head. They wrote the first two Transformers movies and needless to say...not to my liking.

Hopefully the script they're working off of is 70-80% solidified.

Orci and Kurtzman are a weird duo for me. I love their television writing. Haven't been in love with their movie writing.

Pinkner is also a Fringe alum.

In other words: people may not realize this but JJ Abrams has more a hand in films then audiences realize.
