Dude, widgets is a fairly universal word nowadays. My Samsung Impression has "widgets" that aren't anything like the widgets I can get to with F12 on my computer.

I don't really see the need for this ipad. It's too big to be a phone, it's slightly too limited to replace your portable computer, the only reason for it is books.

I can't believe they didn't put a camera on the front. With the stand, you could make voip video calls. It will sell and eat away some of the ebook market share, but I personally have no interest in one.

I'm much more interested in the dell mini 5. It has a 5' screen that can be used as a phone and it runs android.

Just reinforces my initial comment. The link was an added bonus on how they are used in Apple's Mac OS.

One thing about the music industry though is that they cut costs of the cd covers, disc, and plastic container. I really am going to look into this thing. I am thankful for the iTunes thing though because I'm able to buy a lot of older albums that I didn't have a clue about because they were conveniently there at my fingertips. A lot of albums I bought were albums I listened to as a child which I probably would have never scooped otherwise. That is a bit of a hit though from the $20 to the $.99. I think some albums are increasing on iTunes however. I guess it's hit or miss depending on which way you look at it.

I know that the resale and used category does "take" money away from the originals which is tough.

Cost wise the lables are saving 3-4 dollars tops on materials. Maybe not even that since they still have to create some CDs for the B&M stores like Walmart.

How Itunes hurt them was it eliminated the situation where a person would by a 10.99 album because they liked 2 songs. I know I have a ton of albums like that. Now if I like 2 songs, I just buy the two songs from iTunes. Its the difference between spending $2 or $10.

I guess we are going a bit off-topic here, but isn't this canceled out by the people who wouldn't have bought a full album of an artist but are now buying 2-3 songs from them?

Also, buzz on Twitter about the iPad seems to be about 50% jokes (iTampon was a trending topic before iPad was), 25% disgust, 25% excitement.

You didn't get what I was saying, clearly.

You could have meant a number of things when saying "Widgets," especially to someone who may not be as familiar with a Mac as others. I was using that fact that my phone has "widgets" which are nothing like Mac's "widgets" as a way to show an example of how "widgets" could be interpreted a few different ways.
