I'm like you but not as extreme.

A friend got me into this because he told me the back-story which is spoiler-free.

In this show, Vampires and humans co-exist, but many if not most humans don't like them and are prejudice against them. There are also factions of vamps the feel the opposite way.

So it's an alternate reality completely, other than people not believing in them and getting killed all the time.

To me this made it more interesting and it's done in a more intelligent way (HBO factor) so as not to be bubblegum crap for 13 year old girls.

It's shot very well and has cool and interesting things going on and enough thing happen to important characters that you feel as if the show is going places.

The setting also helps, that southern small-town feel (lots of gravel roads and old-style big southern houses).

It's cool, it's sexy and it's well-made and cast imo. Give it a shot.

great summary, hit the nail on the head.

I don't know if it will have great longevity but the first 2 seasons have been top viewing....

Well, my sister apparently has the season one DVDs, so maybe I'll give it a shot soon.

I can't wait. I went through Season 1 and two again and didn't think the Mary Ann story was AS BAD as the first time I saw it, but it definitely brought season two down - though the end to that storyline was truly epic. I thought Jason/the Church's storyline was a lot better and far more interesting.

They said werewolves would be introduced this season, yes?

Yep they showed Sam surrounded by a bunch in some promo vid..btw Sookie looks smokin' in it as well.

I thought it was pretty hilarious to be honest. Good start to the season and definitely some interesting storylines going on already. It was nice to see Bill being a badass at the end.

The dream was because he had Bill's blood at the end of last season. Apparently, once someone has a vampire's blood they have sexual feeling's for them. That's why Sookie was dreaming about Eric last season.

I thought the episode was good. At first, I was a little disappointed that they decided to go with Wolves rather than Werewolves because they're more like Shape-shifters, IMO. But, after listening to their reasons after the episode last night I guess it's kind of cool.

I'm sort of sick of Tara. I wish she would just die off so there wouldn't be anymore crazy Tara.

As far as The Queen, I have a hard time grasping that the only way she can pay off her debt [which I'd like to learn more about how she got into such deep debt] is by selling V. Seems like a reach.

I mean she's the f'ing Queen. She obviously has no problem doing shady stuff, you would think she would just rob someone rich or rob a bank or something like that. Selling V is like a death wish for her.

I don't know if I like that storyline.

I hope she gets n00d though

GREAT start to the season last night I'm a big fan of the show and have both seasons on dvd. I hope this season stays solid. Last year, there was a drop off with the MaryAnn plot line, but I think the Wolves will keep it interesting. I also hope there's a story angle for Tara because she's my least favorite character on the show.

Oh and the Sam dream...LOL I knew something was up, but I did know he's gonna start having dreams about Bill.

I hear good things about this show from people at school so I may take a look, but man, do I really hate the whole vampire fad right now and that alone really makes me want to stay away from this altogether.

My question is, when is the Creature from the Black Lagoon gonna get some love?
