Could the zombies find their way to the campground because shane beat up Ed n left him bloodied? Maybe the zombies are like sharks n they have a very keen sense of smell. Once they smelled the fresh blood from Eds face, they traced back the smell to the campsite.

If u notice, ed was the first victim to get attacked inside the tent. Its as if the zombie knew he was inside.

When dixon was hunting the deer n managed to hit it with 3 arrows, it may have bled which led the zombie to the deer.

Just a wild thought.. I just can't see zombies seeing fire from a distance n thinking "there must be people there".

Yeah that sounds like an awesome theory. Especially 'cause that's badass and adds a whole new element to survival in these times if they can smell the blood from that far away and are willing to do that much.

As the gravedigger (forget his name at the moment) said last week, "They're running out of food in the city" and therefore if they smelled blood somewhere else they would certainly be attracted.

I definitely like that theory. It couldn't have been Murrel because they would've heard the truck and/or honking. We saw how sound carries when they arrived with the stolen car and the alarm was going off, so I don't think that could be it.

            Re: The Walking Dead

I still think it was the fire. Remember Shane stomped out Ed's little fire a couple of episodes back in fear that the Walkers would see it. I don't think they smelled the blood from Ed's face before they saw the light from that fire....which was pretty huge. I know they built the little rock-wall to dim it a little but perhaps it wasn't effective. I just don't think Ed's face bled THAT much for THAT many Zombies to catch a whiff of it from a far away distance. I'm sticking with the light from the Fish-Fry fire.

I'll go with the theory of the walkers just making their way up there. Nothing brought them there.

The fire could have been it because they said a few episodes back that the fire was too high and the walkers might see it.

The smell theory is plausible as well because obviously they can smell the living, that's why they put the zombie guts on them in episode 2. I just don't think they could smell it that far away.

I'll say the most logical choice would be the walkers just made their way to the group. No reason, except that just finally wandered up that way and found the campsite.

Maybe once they got closer to the campsite they saw the fire and or smelled the living/blood and it led them to the site.

Could be the heat too. Last episode it was stated to be over 100 degrees and everybody in the camp was perspiring heavily. Perhaps that combined smell of sweat (much stronger than the scent of blood from ed's face) carried. But I agree that it could be as simple as the Zombies finally made it up there. Coming up with other theories is just more fun lol

                  Re: The Walking Dead

I think that the fire had something to do with it, but not entirely. The fire most likely triggered them, but the smell of fresh blood could have been the key here.

To me this is a zombie lovers dream, I just love this show and it has been very well done so far. Too bad I didn't follow the comics on this one, wish I had since there seems to be a lot of good material.

                        Re: The Walking Dead

Did anyone notice that despite all of the trouble over Merle, they simply left camp without even mentioning him, unless I missed the mention of him (which I don't think I did). It's a minor complaint, but still kind of an annoying continuity error for a show I consider more intelligent than this.

I liked the little sequence with 'surface of the sun' playing, which was the score from the film Sunshine. I was wondering when some TV show would scoop that up for a sequence, it's a powerful theme.

                        The ending was definitely interesting.

That really irked me too. I was hoping that Darryl would of said something when the group was contemplating on going to the CDC. The onlything I could of think of was that the note they left behind was not only for the Dad and Son, but also for Merle and anyone else coming in their camp.

Episode was pretty slow for me. I liked it, with all the drama between the people that lost their loved ones, but after last week, I was hoping for a zombiefestation.

I don't know what to think about the CDC plot. I'll wait until it plays out, but it seems kind of cheesy.
