Wow, that came out of nowhere, talk about slight of hand. When they showed the psycho teacher in the beginning plotting revenge against Clark, I thought, "Oh brother, this is going to be bad", but instead it turned into the best episode of the entire series.

Yeah, that was a pleasant twist.

A lot of things made this episode great, including Marsters work as the fixed, future Brainiac from The Legion Of Superheroes era. His gentle guidance to Clark was a stark contrast to the cold machine that he was in past episodes.

Lois was at her best in this one.

This was bar none the best episode in the series long history, trumping Absolute Justice for me. I too shook my head at the psychotic teacher bit at the beginning.

The elevator scene was AWESOME. Surprisingly, Welling pulled off the future Clark VERY well, IMO.

The episode tonight wasn't all that great but the end sure made up for it.

From the previews I thought the Lois/Isis theme would be a filler episode, but Tess, Cat Grant, and the ending more than made up for it. Lois into Isis was necessary to drive elements of the plot, including Tess's contribution and promotion, yet the beautiful goddess didn't bog the story down.

I love Chloe, but Tess is the one for Ollie, although I don't have a clue who the writers put him with.

Touching scene with Tess at the end, but they need to tread carefully with Alexander. Isn't he a "Lex Clone", and isn't he going to grow up very fast?

I liked this one better than you did BJ. Throughly enjoyed it.

It was good and Lex will grow up fast, I think she's trying to change who he is by caring for him, unlike his real parent did. Hopefully he won't turn into a ranging psycho. But I think he will no matter what!

Clark will be flying by the next 2 episodes, and he'll be Superman with probably 10 episodes left in the season. I think they are really going to bring a lot of his villains back and finally let him defeat them once and for all as the Man of Steel.

Great end to the episode though, it's about damn time. Writers are doing a great job so far!

The writing has been dead on, particularly the last two episodes.

You must have some inside info B-Shadow. I could believe the flying in two episodes, but don't know about becoming Superman with ten or so episodes left-that seems a bit early, although it could work.

I agree, the writing has very strong this year. That's one good thing about knowing that you only have "X" amount of shows left in your series(whether its 22 or 13 or however many you have) they don't have to stall plot lines anymore and the narrative can finally be allowed to flow without contrivance.

They're moving very fast. I didn't expect last night's ending to happen until February at the earliest. I really expected the patented Clark Kent wuss out last night and was very surprised. I could definitely see him taking the name "Superman" in February. I'm not sure I see him wearing the suit. But they are going to spread the big moments throughout the season. I'm thinking the penultimate episode to set everything up as far as him being completely Superman, and the final episode to be an **** battle with Lex (I'd be surprised if Rosenbaum wasn't there at the end of the season - with the arc with clone Lex, they must have some sort of agreement for Rosenbaum to come back for a couple episodes).

Had it's moments but fell significantly short of the last two. I guess The "Phoenix Lex" lies in a clone.

I thought tonights show was great, Sam Lane was a major jackass and helped make the show.

Didn't like the ending. Mainly because I was watching it Sunday morning and my family was in town and the last 15 minutes was all sappy talking after I told them how great the show was.
