so pilots saying they've seen flying saucers is less crazy than astronauts? Neither of them should be discredited for they have a lot to loose if they admit to this and they are also the people most likely to witness something.
At this point I feel like it would be crazier to believe that Alien's don't exist and at the very least know of us and where we are at, but I can understand at the very least thinking they existComment

For those interested in the Ancient Astronaut theory, read Zecharia Sitchin's The Earth Chronicles series of books. Most of the information of the Ancient Aliens show from the History Channel comes from Sitchin's books (I've even heard his name mentioned frequently on the show).

I think it is one of the most possible cases with the whole UFO phenomenon.
1) You got the religion angle which could easily be interpreted as Angles, Gods, and Demons(beasts). Could really just been beings from "the heavens". This would explain the paintings, cave drawing, artifacts, etc depicting "saucers" or beings.
2) You got the whole mystery buildings(pyramids) and places across our planet that modern day science can't explain.
3) Then you have astronauts, pilots, and military officials claiming to have seen craft "Not from this planet". These are credible sources who understand the objects in the air. Especially pilots and PLENTY have claimed to seen said objects.
4) This would also explain how primitive cultures 1000s and 1000s of years ago knew more about the solar system than we did till the 80s.
5) Could also explain the "missing link". How we suddenly went from a animal (monkey) to a smart human. Maybe we are apart of them in some fashion.
6) This would also explain the sharp increase we have developed in technology so rapidly.
Basically this the truth ever comes out if there are "Aliens" aka beings from another planet visiting our planet. Then past writings such as religion and the bible would have to be looked at completely differently and could really shake things up.Last edited by Phobia; 10-26-2010, 05:32 PM.Comment

Good post Phobia, we have a very similar thought process to all of this. To add to the last part while keeping TOS in mind, there is a major religion that has left it open so that Aliens could be a part of the religion. Very hard to give any details trying to avoid leaving an opening for someone to start debating religion and get the thread closed.Comment

to professa, the guy you mentioned actually died on the 9th(i think the 9th).
I think he was also a proponent of a base on the moon and mars.
Anyways I found a link stating there are ice crystals on the moon....:
Scientists have recently revealed that the moon consists of water in its south-polar craters. The water in the craters has been found to be in usable amounts.
According to the scientists in NASA, the discovery of ice crystals could be part of a cycle between water and lunar soil. The course of the cycle might last for thousands of years, and it is possible that apart from the moon, other cold planets might consist of such cycles.
Apart from the water, a used rocket stage was also found in one of the craters, following further investigations, it was found that the plume of the crashed object consisted of 20% methane, ammonia, hydrogen gas and carbon monoxide.
The two discoveries mean that the cost of setting up a base in moon would see a noticeable fall, and that there might not be a need of taking along huge rations of water to the lunar body.Comment

I keep thinking back to the great Pyramids, This whole thing just blows my mind. I keep hearing how much some of the blocks of stone weigh: 17 tons(in that ball park, some weigh more, some less).

34,000 pounds
170 people would be needed to move each stone(200Lbs per person, This probably off as Slaves built the Pyramids and Slaves are usually not fed well).
Im watching Ancient Aliens right now and some of the stuff they are showing is just downright astonishing,My dog's butt smells like cookiesComment
