I liked Lady Gaga and this Josh kid. Good episodes.

Also need to thank SNL for continuing to introduce me to new artists I listen to repeatedly.

Kendrick Lamar, Frank Ocean, Lana Del Ray, Alabama Shakes, Macklemore.

Now we can add Haim to that list.

I'm still laughing about Taran as Mandrew in that Bestbuy skit.

        Taran is hiliarious!

I kinda wish they would find a way to make Mandrew into a regular character.

I guess that's more MadTV than SNL though.

Haha that part and the look he had on Mandrew's face when he is 1st shown is priceless!!

I agree... That would be awesome if they could make Mandrew into something regular!

Bill Brasky was the surprise sketch of the night.

Looking forward to John Goodman next week!

                Re: Saturday Night Live

Cast news: SNL auditioning black women on Monday, and will hire one (possibly two) to debut in January.

Score one for diversity, but it's just moving the complaint. With half a season, no new cast member (regardless of race) would make much of an impact, which means the complaining will shift to them underutilizing the new hires. This doesn't take into consideration the pressure on the show and whoever they hire.

I'm excited for new cast members regardless, and obviously tread lightly on the race issue here on OS - I'm really just annoyed that the recent articles are playing such a role in dictating who is on the show. Hire who works well in the sketch comedy genre, period.

That said, I really hope this works out for all involved. Get some more new blood into the show and another comedic voice. Everyone wins.

                  It's an interesting debate.

I think without getting into the conversation, a sketch show should hire all kinds of people to portray several different real life people.

But I agree they should not be forced to dilute their talent group if the options are weak.

I keep having these long(ish) posts, but delete them since it can be a sensitive topic.

Basic point is that SNL primarily hires from schools/theatres like Second City, iO, UCB, and whatever else...and their casts almost mirror SNL's diversity. Until that changes, SNL is going to have these 'types' of casts.

Well I just started taking improv classes at UCB and will go into sketch in the near future as well.

So watch out! Latinos are coming!

The weekend update was the highlight of the show for me last night. (Drunk Uncle, Drunker Uncle and Black Santa)

The bit "Three Wise Guys" was terrible, imo.

It's Fallon. It's Timberlake. It's SNL's Christmas episode. You know there will be cameos.

                                It'll be good...it'll be good.

3 and a half hours, gentlemen.
