Nothings changed about SNL but the cast and the people watching.
It always cracks me up when people talk about the good ol' days of SNL and mention Fey and Poehler. These are usually the same people that said SNL sucked when they were in the cast.

I don't think the current cast is great but there's some talent there. SNL should hire new writers though.

I came here to talk about something else but this is bang on.

I think the problem is that SNL is a half hour too long. If it was an hour long show I think it'd be a lot tighter and a lot of the filler would go to the wayside. Even the best eras of the show you can basically watch up to the end of Weekend Update and not miss anything meaningful.

Anyways onto what I came here for....

      COOKIE MONSTER FOR SNL HOST!

Justin Timberlake would jump at the chance to join the cast of hit U.S. comedy show Saturday Night Live - if only he could find time in his busy schedule.

The pop star-turned-actor has become good pals with series regular Andy Samberg after hosting and starring in numerous sketches on the program.

And he admits he would love to put his music and movie careers to one side so he could join the comedy crew for a full season of the show, which is filmed in New York.

Timberlake tells USA Weekend, "I could totally see living here (in New York) for a season and doing (it)."
I'd be all for this. I hope he does end up going through with it.

Yea, he's mentioned it before that he would love to join the cast. I think he'd be a nice asset to the team, though I'm not sure how effective it will be beyond one episode a season.

Timberlake seems to be the kind of guy who can pull off the musician turned pretty good actor act. I've seen some of his work and think he's got a future in the realm of acting.

I wouldn't be opposed to having him on SNL for a year.

Yeah, that was about it. De Niro really mailed it in aside from that one. A number of the skits he just played himself, they even brought Robin Williams in for the one with him where they just sit there as Keenan acts annoying (seriously dreadful skit). De Niro kept screwing up his lines in certain skits, too. I read it was a big ratings hit, but it was a pretty poor showing all together.

The whole season so far has been like that for me. A couple of funny skits and the rest is just trash. They should really condense this down to an hour show.

Some of those are a bit silly but I always love seeing Jason Sudeikis dance at the side of the camera.

If Keenan had an ounce of charisma or talent, that might be a funny skit. Unfortunately he doesn't, and it just comes across as obnoxious as hell to me, in a bad way. It's supposed to be obnoxious-funny, but it's just obnoxious-change channel.

They definitely did a good job lining up the names for hosting duties, some of whom delivered and some of whom didn't. I was pretty disappointed with Bobby D. Kind of think this was the wrong gig for him. He still has one of my favorite SNL moments ever, when him and Pesci crashed "The Joe Pesci Show" by Jim Brewer. In a little cameo like that, he ruled. As an actual host, in every skit, he sucked.

The only recurring skit that I enjoy is the "Scared Straight" one. They should be doing more skits with Jay Pharaoh's impersonations. Actually I think SNL really should do just 1 show a year with Jon Hamm.

Forgot all about The Joe Pesci Show skits. Loved those by Jim Breuer.

Haven't seen this DeNiro episode yet, but I'll watch eventually. It does seem more and more like him and Pacino just don't even try anymore in anything.

I'm almost afriad to even watch Little Fockers.
