That was a good line. You can definitely see an old person saying that.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

What the hell is up with the French sketch? Is it supposed to be a parody of something?

French skit was a WIN all the way. I didn't know what it was parodying but it was entertaining.

Le Juenes de Paris. Just found both on youtube and I don't know what the heck is going on, but it's amazing.

Wow, Hulu cuts out some really good stuff. I get it that it's NBC's decision, but I don't understand some of the reasoning.

If I hadn't stayed up to watch the monologue, I would have never seen Zack's Little Orphan Annie dress. I thought that part was hilarious. Hulu cuts it out entirely.

                    So...

Elton John was 'eh' last week. Some laughs from me, but overall I just wasn't feeling it.

Last night with Helen Mirren was great. The show was bookended by mediocre sketches, but the meat of the show was pretty good, I thought.

I didn't catch the 'hole' episode but caught The return of The Ambiguously Gay Duo!

Also caught Paul Simon's performances. Loved them, I was pretty drunk when watching it so it was pretty trippy, he still got it.

The ambiguously gay duo was hilarious, the rest of the episode was not in the slightest unfortunately.

I thought it was pretty good overall.

-The open with Obama was funny. It's nice to see them do something else with him rather than the usual "Too cool" characteristics. I know I tend to be hard on Fred Armisen, but I thought he delivered here.
-"What Up With That?" was the same, but with a different twist. Paul Simon calling Diondre out on the Buckingham stuff, then real Buckingham. California Raisins?!
-The sketch where the guys sit around reminiscing while listening to music usually hits for me, but I wasn't feeling it this week.
-I thought One Take Tony was funny. "Just keep rolling, it's still one take!"
-I know of Ann Margaret, but the sketch was random and fell flat with me, as did the Generic Republican sketch. The joke being that they're too similar/boring/generic that we can't tell them apart, but I thought it missed because there are a lot of generic potential candidates. So many that no one stands out, thus the joke is really too spread out to be as funny as spoofing one specific person. I'm 95% sure I'm overthinking it, but it just didn't land with me. Not everything will though, obviously.

I hoping Justin Timberlake can revive SNl next week. The last few weeks have been real duds for me.
