Overall I thought Daniel Craig was pretty poor. He was looking at the cue cards the entire time. It was up there with Lindsay Lohan's last appearance on the show.

The Californians always makes me laugh hard.

And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Really liking this episode so far. Tech Talk was really similar to last season's "Comment Section" but still hilarious.

I also like that the trend this election season has been to be funny.

2008 was all about zinging Palin, and they killed Bush the previous two election cycles. Obviously they provided their moments ripe for SNL mocking, but it seemed like they were writing more for the "Haha, I really nailed them!" instead of writing for comedy.

Nothing this year so far seems to be malicious at all, and just poking fun and whoever, whenever. Good stuff.

          ---

Christina Applegate really channeled Kristen Wiig last night too, didn't she? Californians and that dancing teacher at the end were very Wiig-ish. Dancing teacher also had some Molly Shannon in her too.

Overall a good show - I expect Stefon to make an appearance next week to promote Halloween parties.

Yes. Thought the exact same thing. It was eerie but good.

I mean they could have Christina Applegate come on to play Wiig if they ever did a skit about former SNL cast members having a reunion episode like they do with major celebrities in skits.

I am really liking this season so far, aside from the Daniel Craig episode. Another solid show.

They nailed the debate. The show was music-heavy, but obviously the host is a musician so it plays well to his strengths.

Weak spot was the "Haters" sketch. I think they could do something with it, but it seemed like an excuse to have Bruno Mars as a woman.

Stefon returned - and was hilarious. I loved that you could pinpoint the moment Hader was reading that cue card for the first time and lost it. Hader breaking is part of the gag now, but if they're going to throw random lines at him on-air, I can't blame him.

Amusement Park returned too. I always like these because the robotic movements are great. The sketch itself always feels a little stilted, for whatever reason. Entertaining though.

              Under-Underground Records Election Festival!

Agreed. Another solid episode. Ill keep saying this but I love how they are making the hosts the focus again.

Was gonna mention how Bruno Mars has this eerie Michael Jackson thing going, and then he does the singing impression. Pretty much sold me on most of those.

Love seeing Tom Hanks pop up every now and then. It's almost as if he just comes around to see if Lorne is busy.

The skit with Mars in the mouse mascot costume in Times Square almost felt like a digital short. I liked it.

Could have done with two less Brad Pitt Chanel skits. Once it went away from parody into selling other products, it was overdone. The first two were great because that Pitt commercial is weird in actuality.

He had Billie dead on in that impression. That Pandora skit had me rolling! I love Hader and he has that Will F mojo going now. Everything he is in he makes it better.

Yeah - I don't want to say it was touching...but probably as touching as SNL will get. No big punchline (though I loved the father's letter and pic to his son), just a short video. Very well done.

Agreed here too. I was annoyed when it popped up for the third time...then a fourth? Geez. Doing one fake perfume ad is cool. Using that style to sell Taco Bell? Still works. Third and fourth time killed it.

His Green Day was hilarious. Why is it funny to see someone impersonate another person?

I also loved how he clearly didn't know the words to Smooth Criminal.

                        "Not your best."
                        "I don't know the words."
"It's okay. No one knows the words to that song anyway."

I grew up believing MJ was asking if Eddie was okay. Found out a few years ago its actually Annie.

What's with Nasim Pedrad being used so sparingly? I think the only time she had was the Underground skit. She's my favorite women on SNL with Wiig gone.

Quoting this for emphasis. The disappearance of Nasim has been my only disappointment of the season so far. On the flip side, I do like how they're spreading out the female lead roles. Just wishing more had Nasim Pedrad.

Finally caught up with the latest episode. I must admit I wish I had missed it altogether. Louis C K was terrible imo. Still barely any airtime for Pedrad. She was in the opening skit and that's it. What is going on?

It felt like a throw-away sketch episode. They mostly hoped that Louis CK would save the show but Louis CK isn't Louis CK unless he's behind the material.

And that's what mostly upsets me. Maybe Louis CK couldn't do it, but how is he not more involved in writing that episode of SNL? Inexcusable if there were no scheduling conflicts.
