I like this casting, Costner is a good actor and has what it takes to be a good Jonathan Kent.

I have reservations about Zod as he has already been done in Superman II. If they are going to go that route then I don't know why they didn't let Brian Singer make his sequel and we could have had another film with Brandon Routh.

As far as Costner is concerned, I thought I would be against it but for some reason I can totally see him as Pa Kent. Just please leave Pa alive this time! I really enjoy the Superman stories that feature Pa living longer and being actively involved with counseling his son throughout his travels.

I agree with both your points but even if he is using Zod as the villan I'm sure it's going to be with a good twist.

They listed it as a "GodFather" type role basicly he is just overseeing everything to mske sure it's done right. He was involved with the script and is invovled with casting but at some point I beleive he is handing it off to Snyder.

As said above, it was said he was just "overseeing" the project as it was put together and then, once the real production started he was handing it over to Snyder and going to focus solely on TDKR.
