Man Routh had the Superman look down pat...

And yeah Money I thought that essay was great as well. Superman Returns is the kind of film that seems to get better with subsequent viewing. I totally agree with Mark Waid that its a film that will be viewed in a much more positive light in the future. Perhaps it was just the victim of the snide internet generation in regards to the often vicious criticism it received. Still, we are probably better off with a fresh start. The superkid storyline would have been difficult to reconcile in a sequel. Its just a shame that Routh has to go down with the ship on this one.

Couldn't agree more. The guy looked like he was born to play Superman.
I hope they can find his equal with the reboot.

        Re: Superman Reboot

Its a shame because Superman is such an important character that I don't think very many people should play him. We've had Welling and Routh for the past 10 years and personally I would rather see Routh continue instead of a brand new actor. I don't want it to turn in the Hulk situation, they are recasting for the third time!

Still, trust Nolan I guess...even though he apparently has nothing further to do with this film now that the script is complete.

I agree that I would rather see Routh keep the job. He was able to play CK and Supes so well and separate the 2 characters. If it ain't broke don't fix it just for the sake of fixing it.

Henry Cavill is our new Superman. A 6'1 British actor playing the part of a 6'4 Kryptonian raised in Kansas. I haven't seen any of his work but the fact that he was also considered for Returns gives me hope.

I didn't even know he's British besides I don't really think of Batman in those terms anyways especially now in the comic books where he's globetrotting all over the place.

Looking at some of his work and his look I think he will do a great justice ti the role. Now speculation for other roles, Lois Lane, Perry White, Jimmy Olsen, Jor El, Jonathan and Martha Kent, who should play these parts? I didn't list any vilians because at this time we don't know which direction Snyder is going as far as villans.

                          My thoughts

                          Perry White - Hugh Laurie
                          Jimmy Olsen - Michael Cera
                          Jonathan Kent - Dennis Quaid

thats just the 3 I think could play those roles well.

Can a Mod change the name of this thread to Superman : The Man of Steel 2012

No. Keep Dennis Quaid away from this.

I'm never even heard of this guy before. Not that that's a bad thing.

                              Should be interesting.
