This movie has nothing to do with the last movie. If I remember correctly, while it's not a re-boot in the specific sense, it's a different take on the events and literally has nothing to do with Singer's "Superman Returns."

Or the Reeve's Superman movies which Returns was tied into as well, I think.

This is basically a re-telling of Superman. I don't know if it'd be considered a reboot or origin story, but they're doing things their own way.

A young Superman being viewed as a threat by the military makes perfect sense to me. The guy is essentially an alien.

It is really bizarre to hear that Warners are already thinking about the next Batman and Superman before cameras have rolled on these new films. I think they should take their time and see how these films work out.

Also www.supermanhomepage.com has some clever ***** ****s stuff going on today. Including a fake announcement of the new Superman suit.

The "attack what you don't know" (i.e. racism or what have you idea) and Super Jesus. Blah. BTW the alleged synopsis makes it sound more like Incredible Hulk than Superman to me.

Ok maybe i'm explaining myself wrong. Looking at Superman's legacy, we have never ever felt like he was here to harm us, he has never shown any ounce of hatred, greed or angry towards humanity.

Even if Snyder does go this route and have the Military create Matallo because they think of Superman as a threat, it'll be sort of hard to pass off because since his induction we've all know him to be "perfect" in a way.

Now if the story was that the Military created Metallo as a safe guard for Superman before he mad his motives known and Metallo got loose on his own, then maybe i could buy it.

The thing is the thinking behind this is exactly where Lex falls. Thats why he hates Superman so much, he has all this power and we humans can't do anything to stop him if he ever decided to go rogue. I guess i can see Lex installing this sort of thinking into the Military before Superman shows his true colors and his love for humanity.

Exactly!!!! What i'm trying to say is that it would require that we completely erase what the last 20 years has told us on Superman. Zack would have to rewrite how he's also perceived which is a big part of his boy scout imagine.

Dont know if anyone knows of this yet but they are releasing the Superman Motion Picture Anthology on Blu-Ray June 7 and in it Superman Returns will feature the Return to Krypton sequence that was left out of previous versions of the film. I'll be picking this collection up.

Yeah that is really tempting but I already shelled out for the blu ray releases of the Donner films and Returns. Superman III and IV were hilariously bad films that I don't need on blu ray at all. The Return to Kypton sequence is very enticing though...
