Isn't it simply so that it doesn't release alongside The Hobbit?

I don't think they moved the Dec. 2012 release date because of The Hobbit. Last I read, it was for post-production purposes.

I think we'll see a teaser around July to capitalize on The Dark Knight Rises.

It's quite amazing that a film would need 18 months of post production. The special effects will have to be the best ever seen in a super hero flick.

Yeah and I'm kind of worried about that. I know that Snyder uses a lot of special effects in his films, but there was a lot of fans that complained that Returns was to CGI heavy. If they have this much post production time how heavy will the CGI presence be? And what will be the fan response?

I need to stop having such a negative outlook on this project I guess and quit my pouting that Routh will not be returning and we won't get to Singer's "Wrath of Kahn" sequel that I was looking forward to or I won't enjoy the movie no matter how great it might be. Does that make sense to anyone else?

It makes perfect sense to me. I felt that Singer/Routh deserved a chance at a sequel before WB rebooted the franchise.

I just worry that the film will be too dark and edgy, hoping to piggyback off of the insane success of the Dark Knight.

At least we still have the wonderful Superman stories being told by Grant Morrison in Action Comics.

My fear exactly, I see Superman as a character that's the total opposite of dark and edgy. Yes the Action Comics are going good.

                Re: Superman Man Of Steel

This isn't Man Of Steel related but Superman related and I thought I would throw it out there for everyone, that remembers The Adventures of Superboy live action tv series in the early 90's.

While there's no official announcement as yet, Jim Bowers of CapedWonder.com has received word from a Warner Home Video representative that plans are in place to release Seasons 2-4 of the "Adventures of Superboy" TV series.

There was a belief for many years that the original film elements had been destroyed, but tonight I received confirmation that they are actually sitting in the WB vaults! The project is in the early stages, and everything is being gathered together now to move forward with it. When will the episodes be released? How much restoration will be done? Will there be extras? Will they be released as a DVD box set or released through WB's Video on Demand website? It is still too early to answer these questions.

We'll keep you informed as further information about this news comes to hand. Congratulations to SuperboyHomepage.com and SuperboyTheater.net for their ongoing efforts to have this news become a reality.

I bought season 1 when it came out in 2006 and have been hoping for season's 2-4 as they was better. So maybe we'll get a box set release at the same time as Man Of Steel.

Possible "Man of Steel" Visuals Described

I actually got excited after reading that. It's quite detailed and IF TRUE, could spoil those who want to stay spoiler-free.

Zod seems to be quite the badass based on this description.

It sounds pretty good but I have one major concern I hope this movie does not have strong language. I want to be able to take my kids to see it but if it has bad language I will not let them watch it. That was something that was great about the Christopher Reeve films and Superman Returns there was no language and the films was good for people of all ages. For some reason I have a fear that with Zack Snyder being a part of it that it will be a little more edgy and not suitable for younger children.

I'm sure I could handle that, I'll check it first by myself but you can understand my concerns can't you.

I don't think WB/DC would let that happen no matter who was directing it.

Yeah, I don't think you'll have to worry about that.

What's the worst we've heard from these kinds of movies? I honestly can't recall a single instance from Batman Begins, Iron Man, Hulk, TDK, etc. where someone said a bad word.

Language bothers me in movies where it is completely unnecessary. Transformers is a movie I have to be careful with because of the language they decide on.

But language takes a back seat to content. I still won't let my kids see any of the Nolan Batmans because the villains are so well done. Scarecrow would freak them out.
