I that's one of WB's upcoming animated projects. I just got the Superman/Batman Apokolips and it was a continue from Superman/Batman Public Enemies.

yes Superman For All Seasons will be an animated feature.

I got my hands on a copy of Birthright and will read it overnight or sometime tomorrow. As for telling the origin on screen again I think it's a good idea to do that. Returns tried to have it both ways with a semi-origin in the first half hour or so of the movie but it felt rushed a bit.

I just heard that Hans Zimmer might do the score for the movie, as they are looking for a summer 2012 release date.

In other Superman movie news superherohype just released pics of the Superman Lives costume that was to be made in the 90's directed by Tim Burton and starring Nicholas Cage as Superman. Looking at the pics i'm glad this wasn't made. But some people say the costume shown was one that Superman was to wear after he was killed by Brainiac and is recovering, but his costume before was your typical Superman suit. Either way this movie just had bad idea written all over it.

You can smell the terrible-ness just looking at the pictures.

          Thank god this wasn't made.

Who would you guys like to see get the part this time around? Personally I think Brandon Routh deserves another shot with a better story and a different cast but if they have to change it up I would 100% vote for Jon Hamm. Yes he is older but after watching a ton of Mad Men the last few days I can't shake the feeling that he looks like he stepped out of an Alex Ross story. Which could be a casting masterstroke.

As far as the musical score is concerned I would like it to be brand new but allude to the classic Williams themes at times.

I agree with everything you said there. I believe Brandon deserves another shot. But I really don't want to see the music change that much, I thought the score from Superman Returns was good. It was a little diffrent but still had a lot of the Williams feel to it.

They already said they're looking for someone new. I think what I read said they'd prefer someone a little older (like 35-40). I'm not much of a Superman fan, but just from looking at pictures, that Jon Hamm guy from Mad Men is almost perfect for this.

                    Re: Superman Reboot

If Hamm does get the part he is no doubt going to be absolutely pounded by a trainer to put on some muscle mass for this role, which would be so much harder for a 40 year old guy to do instead of someone in their late 20's like Routh. Hamm is in no way out of shape but I think Superman needs to look really strong and imposing.

Also I don't think Routh is out of the picture just yet. There is a lot of support for him online and I thought that I read that Snyder would be willing to consider him. I think he would absolutely knock it out of the park this time around. He will be a little older and will no doubt have a lot of drive to prove himself if he gets a second chance. Just give him another slightly older actress as Lois Lane (Early 30's as opposed to Kate Bosworth's 23 year Lois) and we will absolutely be in business.

Kevin Spacey is an all time great but I thought that the Luthor they wrote for him was far too much of a cartoon. I find the ruthless business man archetype far more believable than the career criminal that swindles widows out of their estates. So I would probably be in favor of recasting him, maybe for somebody of a similar age to Routh. The one thing I really liked about the early years of Smallville was the way Clark and Lex played off each other as guys who were reasonably close in a generational sense. Luthor needs to be an incredibly driven genius who sees Superman as a direct rival to his power and influence. Birthright did this very well.

Either way this is going to be an interesting year or so as information starts to trickle out. Hopefully we get a brilliant film that kicks starts a new trilogy for the next decade. I've been wanting an amazing Superman film since I was a little kid in the late 80's watching Superman IV.

Snyder has said that after seeing the online campaign for Routh he is a definate front runner for the job.

I'm in favor of Routh or Welling either one, just no Nicholas Cage please, LOL. But the main thing is we need an interesting and compelling villain. It's hard to top the old Zod, that's for sure.

I sure do hope he gets the role. He's like Christopher Reeve re-incarnated! He was just hard done by such a terrible script the last time around.

True, but if you look at Reeve he wasn't exactly Olivier either.
