I'm keeping mine until it craps out on me. I secretly didn't want to get my GF a KS8000. Don't need me thinking my TV is going downhill lol

My Sony 850c broke down the other day and I am getting it fixed. Is it crazy that part of me is hoping that the TV is bricked so I can go pick up a LG C6? Lol.

I'm going to grab this in 65" (Samsung ks8000). B and H has it right now for just under 1500 USD, going through them I have taxes, currency and customs making it just about 2500 CAD. Best deal in Canada I can see is 2799 BEFORE tax, so if/when i get it I'll likely go through b and h although I'm not pulling the trigger just yet, I'll either go boxing day, one of the weird sales I mentioned earlier, or next year around this time when they have a new model. This tv seems quite future proof and outside of OLED it really does seem like the best out there right now, and that means in 5 years it will still kick some butt.

Not in a terrible rush even though I'm one of those guys who normally needs what's new and great right away. I feel like it would be a nice luxury, but the timing isn't the best to do it right now. By this time next year I think it would be more of an everyday thing - now it'd be just for watching my own video's that I shoot in 4k plus netflix/youtube. *which is still quite a bit though.

Having said all of that I do REALLY want it! lol

Do you mean the picture keeps diming on you? I had a issue like that on the ks8000 because under the system settings there is a eco setting that makes the TV use less power and with that on it makes the picture more dim.

Oh ok that is good the first night I got the TV I stayed up to late messing with it and it took me like 3 hours to figure out what was going on. At first I thought I got a lemon lol.

I feel a little regret not jumping on this when it was $2299 up here the last two weeks. It's back to its regular price of $4000 everywhere I've looked

Yeah, the open box will carry the same warranty.

The TV is exceptional. I look at it every night and marvel at what a great deal it is. The picture and sound quality are exceptional, especially for the cost.

I also think the warranty service will be great, as Hisense is really making a push in the US, so they'll want happy customers.

I wish the H8C was more readily available in Canada. Nearly impossible to find, everything has to be brought up from the US.

Not really sure where to put this, but since we're talking about video in some detail here, I'll just ask the question here.

In terms of UHD bluray playback quality how's the Xbox one S vs other players? I know it had some issues early on based on a few articles. Just wondering where it stands now with people that own it or are just knowledgeable.
