I have a C1. And I've only had LED TV's prior. I'm talking going back to like 2008 when I got my first LED. And I've never seen anything like OLED until I saw it.

No way I could go back to LED. But everybody is different, so that makes it harder to give hard answers.

And with gaming, I would say it's the best TV on the market. It has so many gaming features it's crazy.

How attached are you to Samsung?

I picked up the C1 65inch. Colors are amazing, been calibrated. Playing the show seems dark at times vs horizon.

Guys with C1 have you had any burn in situations? The show theme ticker is always on is that a concern to worry about as time goes on?

Recent OLEDs have pixel shift technology, so burn ins are very hard to do now.

You can turn on a setting to constantly shift the pixels for static graphics, not sure if it helps with games or not. I doubt it needs to be on but it can't hurt if you are really worried.

Yeah there's a setting for those news station logos or CNN etc think its low or high default its low.

You can turn on a setting to constantly shift the pixels for static graphics, not sure if it helps with games or not. I doubt it needs to be on but it can't hurt if you are really worried.

I'm probably going to need to get the best buy warranty suspose to cover burn in.

It's tough with OLED you never half to worry about blooming or bleeds but there could eventually be burn in.

Then with QLED you never have burn in but always seem to have bleeds, blooming over time. My samsung 2019 QLED lasted 4 years until recently got lower middle bottom screen got the screen bleed. Scary that it can go out at anytime and your screen has a white spot or spots depending on where it is on the screen if u can tolerate it.

Like others have said, I wouldn't worry about burn-in. It just doesn't really happen with the newer OLEDs. There is also a feature called pixel refresh I think. And it does like some kind of pixel cleaning when you turn the TV off.

As far as The Show looking dark, do you have it set to game mode, and does it show the HDR splash in the upper right corner? Also, change the tone mapping for HDR to HGiG. It might look a little dark at first, but you will get used to it. It's the most accurate display of HDR. But then again, there are no HDR sliders in The Show. So you are kinda hamstrung by that. I think their HDR is set to 1000 nits. So you will come up a little short of that, around 800. But you really won't notice the difference. Especially after your eyes adjust.

Make sure you check if burn in is even covered. Most will not cover it.

I really don't think it is needed, you probably aren't doing the same thing all day, every day. Just put the setting on high, there is a slight blur or color difference, may not even be noticeable.

Hey thanks for the reply again, yes i have all that turned on. I have calibration settings entered. From pitchers mound dont look as dark but when batting seems a little dark at times and not talking about the in game shadows.

Also what do you have set inside the game optimizer mode?

I know PS5 doesn't support gsync or AMD yet but was curios if when on does it change a little darker if turned on?

Well, I set in calibration settings for SDR, HDR for movies and other programming, blue ray and ultra HD 4k content.

Then I entered in the gaming stuff for SDR and HDR content. I think its the best I'm gonna get things. I think the show 21 just gonna not be as bright as I would like. When inside game optimizer turning it to FPS it enhances a little but not what I'm used to.

Anyhow the colors pop and game in general looks amazing. Movies and TV etc settings are perfect, the show i gotta get used to it. I might try some other PS5 games and compare to see if indeed if it's just the show and me just having to adapt to it. My wife plays horizon forbidden west and looks spot on not dark at all.

Make sure you check if burn in is even covered. Most will not cover it.

My dad bought the longest warranty Best Buy offers. Can't remember how long he said. He's also having them deliver and mount it to the wall. He's trying to decide if he wants the pro calibration as well.

Should he do that, or just let me help him with the settings? I never did get my C1 calibrated but I feel like I have the best settings you can have on it without it.
