Re: Plasma or LCD?
If I turn it off for movies and television shows, won't those then have the blur/motion issues?Comment

Re: Plasma or LCD?
I suppose it's just a "pick your poison" kind of thing. Watching 120 Hz or 240 Hz for movies or shows is just "too fast" for me, especially when camera panning is involved. I'm not really sure how they will ever be able to correct it with LCD's, but plasmas seem to get it right with their ultra high 600 Hz panels (without the annoying motion sickness).
I say stick with my suggestions, but it's really up to you.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Plasma or LCD?
Yeah eventually your eyes will either adjust to the 120HZ or it won't. 60hz is fine for regular tv shows and movies. I mean when you think about it.......as a kid growing up wasn't 60hz just fine for your cartoons and favorite tv shows ? LOLComment

Re: Plasma or LCD?
Of course you can, but that's how films are shot anyway. It hasn't been an issue for half a century, it sure as hell won't be now.

Re: Plasma or LCD?
Well you just got the tv today right ? I say give it until Monday. By then you would have learned more about the options and what works with certain tv shows and what doesn't. too much to learn in a few hours.Comment

Re: Plasma or LCD?
I agree. I'm going to give this a bit of time before full judgment, this was just my initial thoughts. I need to look on AVS for base settings.Comment

Re: Plasma or LCD?
Those are added frames where the tv makes an educated guess on what should be put in based on the previous and next frame. As suggested, I'd turn it off for movies and regular tv. Just use it for sports and video games.Comment

Re: Plasma or LCD?
I'd probably turn-it OFF for gaming also. I also would use GAME MODE for GamingComment

Agreed, the fear of burning is not a problem like some think, heck I was scared with mine but that fear went away real fast. Buyers shouldn't let the ir/burn part hold you back, because it's really just psyching you out of a great set.N.Y Mets

Re: Plasma or LCD?
With the plasma, it was one thing my wife was hoping I wouldn't get since she loves to keep all curtains open all day. The sun would cause for some bad glare.Comment
