Don't get me wrong, I have 2 AWD cars (a Lexus GS350 and Infiniti G37)....love them both and love the AWD, but I just took the Lexus in for an inspection and 1 of the wheels would not pass inspection because the rubber was too low. I had to replace all 4 tires for $1000 because you can't replace just one tire in an AWD setup. The Lexus actually came with runflats, but I didn't put them back on my car because they ran $300/tire and the ride was a bit rough due to the harder sidewalls.
I know what you mean I just had to switch all 4 tires but imo the pros outweigh the cons... especially in the winter

You'll be looking at a entry-mid level offering from Samsung, Panasonic or LG.

I'd start by getting base prices from Amazon.com

Chad's black level readings are usually higher then most. His review made it seem that Samsung black level were not up to par. D-Nice claims the black levels are better on the D 7000 and 8000 then what Chad rated it.

I have the 51D7000 and it is a great set with incredible black level performance and great color accuracy.

I do like Chad's calibration which gives the picture great color and punch.

Getting the 8000 or 7000 D series is not being stuck. Those are 2 of the best plasmas out

Lol,I'm talking about trying to decide between pros & cons.

                So far my choices are

                Panny ST30
Sammy D8000-Alittle more than what I'm looking to spend
                Sammy D7000

                Also what's the market value for a 720p 60HZ 37" JVC LCD?

What made you choose the 7000 over a Panny?

Also do you think the 8000 would be worth the extra cash?

Well what is your budget if you do not mind me asking. I was able to get the 51D7000 which is the same panel as the D8000 except that with the D8000 you get a qwerty remote and it has contrast enhancer. Ohh and the spider stand which looks horrible by the way.

Go with the 7000 which would allow you to save $

As far as your JVC tv. Good luck selling it for more then $150

It would not be worth it. Check my previous post about it.

The Panny suffered from rising blacks last year and that is something you must consider with any Panny purchase.

The Panny has a bit better black levels but the color accuracy is not as good as the Sammy. The style of the tv is also not as attractive as the Sammy.

And I assume you are a gamer? This Samsung plasma series has very little input lag in non game mode settings. That means you do not have to engage game mode to play a game and get little input lag. I think they measured just 16ms which is fantastic for non game mode.

I do not use game mode at all and play MLB the show and can hit with great timing.

Sounds like a good choice. CNET reviews list the 2 plasma's as very close in PQ, but the Samsung looks more stylish.

Also, IMO, I would just move the JVC to another room. With the prices on new HDTVs at a all time low, you won't get much for it.

(You can get a cheap 40" 1080p 60 Hz LCD for $350 or less)

Is hooking a pc to an plasma a bad idea?

Only thing you have to be mindful of are static images. They are not good on a new plasma. You want those new phosphors to age evenly.
