Yeah I get all of the movie channels except Starz and usually buy every UFC PPV too. My bill for last month was $238.98 which was the same as the month before. It was a little less prior to that, but I added some channels in February so it went up.

Re: Plasma or LCD? - The TV Thread

I've stuck with the most basic, really just desire cable for sports and news.

My bill is 85$ a month for cable, internet and phone.

Yeah I thought about doing that but the most basic here is like 17 channels, no sports and no news. You get the locals, then you get maybe WGN, QVC, a religious channel or two and PBS. With internet, that'll run you about 80 bucks a month.

          :o

I get 200 channels. The only sports channel I don't get is NFLN, and that's because Cabelvision and the NFL suck.

Our DirecTv bill is under $100 for internet and just above basic. Get all the sports channels no premium movie channels tho.

When my DLP finally died I replaced it with an LED. No way am I going back to DLP. The other LCDs in my house do a fine job as well.

The 60" I bought made dealnews.com's Best HDTV Deals. Also, thanks to Amazon's lowest price guarantee, I should(hopefully) be getting $100 back because the tv is on sale at dell.com for 1099, with free shipping. Coupon Code "W56V42GPPF0?0$".

Glad you're enjoying the plasma. I'd take 10-12 extra inches of screen size over 3D/smart tv any day.

Re: Plasma or LCD? - The TV Thread

What recommendations do you guys have on a 60 - 70 inch set?

It would be used for gaming, hdtv channels (mostly sports), and just general viewing. All in all, sports games and sports on tv would encompass the majority of use.

Not so much interested in smart tvs, etc...prefer quality of picture, no motion blur, and size. If 3D, would prefer passive of course due to cost of glasses.

                    Thanks for any opinions...

Couldn't find any 60+ inch tvs using passive 3D in your price range.

There are several plasmas with active 3D in the 60-65" range. Keep in mind Samsung's active 3D glasses are about as cheap as they come.

Is there a specific Samsung you like? I currently have a Samsung 52 inch 650 LCD...but want to go bigger...

For today only at Best Buy:

                                Samsung 55" UN55D6900 LED for $1699.99

Don't know if you're saving up at all by jumping on that, but I know Amazon doesn't have this one listed (their cheapest for the D6500 is $1715 btw). Just throwing it out there in case this resides within your budget. I know this isn't 60", but this is really for anybody interested (retails at $2799.99).
