Doesn't matter to me. Both are similar as far as I'm concerned.

Plasma is superior in regards to picture and lag input.

I see them on Amazon and Best Buy and stuff, but I'm actually concerned more about input lag and how a PS3 will perform on it than if the picture is super, super sharp. Any HDTV is going to be an upgrade to my current setup.

So far I'm really liking what I've seen so far. I tested the opening scene in Quantum of Solace. The increased clarity was very evident. I also played some Sleeping Dogs & saw an increase in clarity also. No evidence of additional input lag while gaming.

The best way to describe the effect so far is the image has more POP & clarity to it. The best part is it does do anything to the image in reference to changing color or anything. So if you have your display calibrated, it doesn't effect that calibration.

The other thing is the effect varies from content to content.

                  More to come later

I'm reading to pretty much only use the HD setting, and find your niche based on the content between 30 - 50 or so.

That's great to hear, though! I wonder if the effect on plasma is as important as the one it gives to projectors.

I'm definitely considering it. This thing's price is going to hike up again in mid-September, so it's better to do it now than later.

Watched Underworld Awakening with the Darbee set @ Hi-Def 50% the movie looked stunning. 1 issue that arise was the Darbee manually reset itself twice within a 5 minute span while watching Underworld.

Hopefully this is an isolated incident.

What exactly does it do? You have me curious.

Where did you order it from? I read a little bit about that, and thought maybe that was from a bad batch of Darbee's. If you got them from AVS, they have received a new batch since that glitch, was mentioned, so I wonder if it's still around.

I'll find a link/set of posts for you to inform you if there's something that you can do to fix it; otherwise, you may have to send it in for a new one.

I placed an order for one yesterday afternoon. After reading up on it, it just seems too, too cool. Something that anybody with an HDTV and clean source media should take advantage of.

The best way to describe what it does, is like a having a haze is lifted from the screen. Everything just becomes more clearer with great depth. This is without doing anything to cause the picture to look bad. You definitely have to find the right setting within the Darbee. Right now HD/Game @ 50-55 seems to be working for me.

1 other thing that's important is the effect varies with the content.

I did order from AVS. I believe I got mine from the new batch you speak of. I checked the firmware the Darbee shipped with & it is the most updated
