Re: Plasma or LCD? - The TV Thread
Are there any good 4k 3D 60 inch TV's yet for around $1000? I am not yet getting a new TV but I have a 37 inch 720p that up scales to 1080p that I have had for about 8 years. TV's have went down in price a lot but I know 4k is still kind of up there but going down. When I got my 37 inch TV I got it for like $600 and at the time it was $100 of so normal price was $700. Now I see that same kind of TV for like $400 and I see now TV's that are like 55 inch costing me what my 37 inch cost me. I think in a few years I will up grade to 4k and go bigger and just wondering how much a 4k 3D 60 inch TV may cost in like 2 years or so. I am not sure how long 4k has been a thing. I had never heard of 4k up in till 2013 and never saw a place with k4 TV's in till just this year but man they look great!Last edited by Smallville102001; 08-24-2015, 04:24 AM.Comment

Re: Plasma or LCD? - The TV Thread
I suggest doing a little bit of research on 4K tvs first. Read something about 10 bit vs 8 bit panels. 10 bit panels are suppose to be "future" proof. Something about full color spectrum or something. Something about most 4k tvs available today are 8 bit panels. Another thing that I came across was something about 4:4:4 and 4K tvs.Are there any good 4k 3D 60 inch TV's yet for around $1000? Anyways, research first before throwing cash at any affordable 4K tvs. I'm not going to have any answers because I'm not currently looking for any new TVs.

While I think it will be a few years. I will most likely want in till my lamp goes out on my TV in a few years. Had it replaced just at the begging of last year.

I have never even heard about 10 bit and 9 bit panels before and I am not sure about 4:4:4 either. I think I have looked at that sight before. Yeah I tend to look on the internet at like the best TVs of the year and consumer reports and such to get a idea.Comment

So looks like next month I'll be getting the LG EF9500, since my Samsung 60UN6100 is trying to die on me.PSN-Shugarooo

Re: Plasma or LCD? - The TV Thread
I ended up upgrading my 5 year old 50 inch Panasonic Plasma with this below.
I know I'm not up to speed with the 4k stuff, but i have like 2 channels that support 2160p. None of the next gen systems support it, well Xbox One is suppose to be able to down the line. I figure by the time that is mainstreamed or whatever, I'll be buying a new one anything. Worst case, this new TV goes into the living room and i get a new one for the man cave. LOLTwitch
