That's just incredible to me...maybe I can snag a good sized 4K TV for around $500 this year.
I'd probably start to consider a 55" good brand 4k at that price....but also wonder if I should hold off for HDR....not sure if I'll have 500 then to spend, but I'm happy how much prices are dropping.

          Its a huge difference.

I just watched The Revenant in 4K UHD today and WOW.

Also, guys with sound bars (who don't have a home entertainment system fully set up yet), do you use them while watching movies or the Cinema sound on your tv? I watched the Revenant today using my sound bar, but just now re-showed off some scenes using "Cinema" mode on my tv and I can't tell which I like better.

Sounds like you bought a very low quality soundbar. Unless TV manufacturers have decided to increase the quality of TV speakers again. Which I thought the main point of making them crappy was so people bought $150 soundbars.

Can't wait to see how games look in HDR. 4K projectors are pretty expensive right now, but I'm sure they'll start to come down.

Agreed . I just bought a 4K Samsung and I really underrated these TVs. 4K looks amazing even 1080p upscaled looks really good which I didn't expect.

Wait until you see HDR. I've been watching HDR content on both Netflix and Amazon prime and it's great how good it looks.

My TV of about 9 years went out yesterday, was a 47" Vizio so I immediately went and bought a Vizio 43" 4k Smartv. I like it so far but curious about something. I remember hearing to set it to Gaming when I play video games but it also has a computer setting so would it be better to set to Computer rather than Gaming?

Computer setting is a bit brighter than Gaming so is it only for looks or lag?

I have never heard of HDR until reading thru this thread this week.

When trying to research it, I see a lot of HDR10 and Dolby Vision. What's the difference?

Got the tv's for half the resort; 11 32" inch basic samsung for about $250 and 43" lg smart tv for our vip room and got the same model for myself. Its not a 4k tv but it'll be fine just for netflix and gaming.

I could have went cheaper and went with a Chinese company (Devant) but i was like hell naw. I've had a basic 32" samsung for 3 years and had no issues.

I just kept looking at those curved Tv's and hoping one day to get one. I'll wait awhile since 4k content is almost impossible to stream here and i'll probably go for a wide screen monitor before a tv.

Those'll be nice for the resort....I tend to feel a name brand will be more quality too, so better off with it vs. the Chinese one that might die sooner (or where some last forever but others have manufacturing bugs)

Ended up ordering the new Vizio P 65 series just to make a comparison to my edge lit Samsung since the Vizio is a FALD panel. It's suppose to arrive on Thursday

Curved or Flat is the last question I am trying to answer for my second home entertainment system. Any one have an opinion one way or another?
