What is your seating arrangement? That would probably be the first question. Like, are there seats far off to either side?

How large is the TV and how far away are you sitting? I see the curved idea as something that should exist "in your periphery" more than something that you would kind of actually notice, much like 70mm IMAX screens.

Otherwise, flat sounds just fine to me.

Definitely not getting curved. Now I am deciding between OLED or SUHD. Decisions, decisions.

I can't get by with what LED has to offer, so I would go OLED myself. The only thing is it's still in its youth and we don't know how long these sets last for or what kind of future issues they might have.

Re: Plasma or LCD? - The TV Thread

I just brought the LG Curved OLED65C6P over the weekend - I am absolutely in love with it. I've always been a Samsung guy, but when they went away from supporting 3D I gave a second look at OLED even though it's pricey. Me and the gf ended up watching True Lies and Black Hawk Down as if they were new movies - loved the additional detail I was noticing. It hasn't impressed with every movie; I streamed The Force Awakens from VUDU and wasn't that impressed surprisingly. But most of the time it impresses considerably, I love the OS, the Wii-like remote control/pointer is fantastic and I really enjoy using it.

I have my PS4 currently hooked up to it, although I mostly game on my Xbox One. Uncharted looks fantastic but Bloodborne looks overly dark - only spent a few minutes with that game anyway, not sure I like it. Star Wars Battlefront looked good but wasn't all that captivated to play. Going to try Doom tonight. Haven't tried calibrating it; it has several presets to choose from depending on the content.

The tv definitely has me wanting to buy the Xbox One S sooner rather than later; don't think I'm going to be able to wait until Black Friday
HBO's "The Wire" should rank as one of the top 10 shows EVER on tv - period

I recently bought the Samsung ks8000 and the Vizio 65 P series, but I'm returning the Vizio and keeping the Samsung. The picture quality and input lag is amazing on this set and it's currently the only 4K HDR tv that's the lowest input lag even in HDR gaming. The majority of TVs are almost doubling the input lag with HDR while this Samsung is only 22ms input lag with HDR gaming in game mode. Love this tv so far. I want to get an OLED, but I'll wait a few years until the tech is perfected and comes down in price too.

Time for a TV upgrade last one I purchased was 2008,I thought the prices had come down but it seems not.
I want a display that can do a good job on Sports,Film & Gaming (PS4).
HDR10/4K/OLED are all on my list but the prices are way more than I expected.
Anyone know of a good deal?

How are the 4k displays when it comes to gaming on them? Is there a gaming mode to reduce lag? Just curious as I don't own one but will be looking to get one in the future.

Check out Rtings.com they do greats I depth reviews on TVs. The current tv I have is 4K HDR (65ks8000) and in game mode input lag is 20ms and 22ms with HDR gaming.

Artman, are you fairly happy with the KS8000? I'm looking to upgrade the TV that I have, a 55" Samsung JU6500. I was considering the Z9D from Sony since even as a LCD, it is supposed out perform OLEDs, but it is very expensive. I'm kind of scared to get an OLED because I've read some reports of image retention with them. Now I see that I can get a 65" KS8000 for $1500 and that seems like a really good deal. While I think having the Z9D would be nice, I don't think I can justify paying $4500 more when the KS8000 looks like a good tv.

Yea man it's a great tv. It's edge lit, but the picture pops and does a phenomenal job upscaling stuff. I bought the 65ks8000 and bought the Vizio P65 as well. The P 65 is FALD, but the problem is the input lag is low for SDR, but only one HDMI port and that's port #5. It's 17ms in game mode on that port. On every other port it's 34ms for SDR content in game mode but HDMI port #5 doesn't support HDR and ports 1-4 with HDR the input lag is 65ms. The ks8000 in game mode is 20ms and 22ms with HDR Gaming. The picture is great on this set you won't regret it. How can you get the 65 inch model for $1500? Lol. When I bought the tv it was $2200 and got Best Buy to give me a credit and I got the tv for $1799.

Thanks for the input. My mom's work has a employee purchase program that has discounts on a variety of websites, and one is the Samsung store, and it has the 65" for $1500.
