Re: Plasma or LCD? - The TV Thread
If you can get Samsung EPP pricing, the 65KS8000 and 65ks8500 are $1249 shipped today, if the deals not dead. Freaking phenomenal deal. It's on slick deals. I lmosy ordered one too.
My LG, I paid $1100 out the door, with a LG wireless Blu-ray player as well. For a 65 suhd, I couldn't have asked for a better deal. HDR10 and Dolby Vision, I'm set.
Out of your choices I would've easily went with the ks8000. Overall better picture and lower input lag. http://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/lg/uh8500

Difference is gonna be Quantum dot display, 10 bit panel as opposed to 8 bit (1 billion colors opposed to 16 million colors), 2.5 times brightness, better HDR.

Re: Plasma or LCD? - The TV Thread
I have never heard of bias lighting.
Also, the LG SUHD is phenomenal. Does a great job at up converting. Much better set than the vizio.
The rtings website may be accurate for some TVs, but this TV is stellar. The Harmon Kardon sound is stellar. It does a better job than my sound bar does, at producing clear sound.
Blacks are black, I don't have any light bleeding and overall, I'm extremely happy with the set. I'm not sold yet on the remote though.Twitter - WTF_OS

It's supposed to help lessen the strain on your eyes in darker viewing rooms. Here's a couple pictures.

Plasma or LCD? - The TV Thread
I use that same one. I love bias lighting. It makes the picture look a lot better and less eye strain when watching in a dark room. There's actually a science behind it.

Re: Plasma or LCD? - The TV Thread
Damn, I'm in such a dilemma right now, I wanted to get that 50" Hisense set. But I'm another sure what to do, I have been doing so much research lately and not sure if it would be smart for me to upgrade right now. My set I game in now is STL very sharp looking especially when gaming. It's 55" and downsizing to a 50" may not make much sense, and especially with Christmas around the corner son know if blowing $500 is the right choice , also I sit about 10 maybe 11 Feet from my current 55" , so many articles I read sat that if our not sitting closer to the TV is maybe not matter at all. Now keep in mind I sit like I said about 10 feet away. I'm not going to alter my living to sit closer. So I know I get crazy over graphics, but do you guys think it makes much sense to go from 55" to a 50" knowing I sit 10 feet away.

Re: Plasma or LCD? - The TV Thread
Here's another brand, a little more expensive for 46"-70", can produce different colors, and has a remote that can dim the light also.

Is being 6-7 feet from a 49-55 inch TV to close? I want to get the KS8000 Samsung TV but I am still at home trying to get out on my own and with the size of my bed room I am only around 6-7 feet from my TV.Comment
