Movie mode is the most realistic and closes to reference of what the produces intend their image to look like. All other modes are overexposure which is what stores use to attract eye balls

Movie mode will look dull and boring at first but that is because your eyes are use to incorrect settings that are bright and punchy and not realistic...If you force your eyes to watch movie mode for 2 weeks without changing you will never go back to blow torch mode

I guess. I have been back and forth between both modes.

I've been using movie mode for years even on my older plasmas. I've gotten so used to it that now when I see tvs on vivid or standard it looks horrible to me. I love how accurate movie mode is. Just have to raise the backlight a bit and a few adjustments and you'll be fine..

I'm have rtings.com settings already saved in my set under theater mode. Only thing I don't like is they recommend warm settings, and the warm settings make the picture not so great to me.

I have my sets professionally calibrated and the calibrators always start in Movie mode for TV/movie watching. They will also calibrate game mode to get that looking as good as possible.

I guess it depends on your tv but warm is usually the most color accurate. Most tvs have 2 warm settings warm 1 and warm 2. For gaming I use warm 1 and for movies I use warm 2. Anything else and it starts looking too bluish.

Thats funny because for some reason I always prefer the colder tint. Warm always looks too orange/red for me.

Just upgraded to a KS8000 from a LG 4K with HDR Pro. I wanted the 55' but I settled for the 49'. I wouldve had to remount the two TVs I have on the side if I went with the 55' and thats too much work for a slight upgrade.

I love the TV so far but I'm still fooling around with the settings.

Default/out of the box, I'd agree. After professional calibration? It shouldn't look "warm" at all. It just shouldn't look cold either. White should look like white, not blueish-white or anything.

You can calibrate from any preset if your television has enough tweaking controls. More often than not though, a warm tint preset has your whites closest to 6,500 Kelvin to begin with (as that is your target white temperature).

The best settings I have seen besides getting it pro calibrated is the rtings set

Warm 2 is the best for natural skin tones and reference color set

That is what all pro calibrators start from. The rtings are excellent for basic watching...The back light is up to you but the rest is excellent from them

same here, warm doesn't look right. white's look dirty white, so I keep it on cool, and it doesn't look blue to me at all.

Do you use warm 2 for gaming? I find it looks too yellowish for games. On Netflix or movies it's perfect. I use warm 1 for gaming.
