No I said it did work. I thought someone said it doesn't work on preorders so I looked to see if that was correct. The Horizon collectors edition is 120 so after the Gamers club that is 96 plus tax and now with this $25 thing it end up at $77.48 after it takes off the gamers club 20% and the $25 with this thing and then after tax.

I also learned that Visio is releasing TVs without an actual remote? They make your download an app, that's insane.

lol that is odd and I have never heard of that before.

Sorry, I totally misread your post.

Nobody said that it didn't work on pre-orders, though. They just said you can't apply reward certificates with these purchases.

Do you think the player will get any cheaper this year? I would like to get this $25 thing but I don't really have much to buy at the moment and it does not work one preorders or I would just do that.

Actually wishing I had just gone with a Samsung J6200 lol. I'll have to see how this performs with sports as rtings says to expect it to be below average. If my girlfriend doesn't notice the bad uniformity and blur on the ball & camera pans I will probably keep it anyways. $349 was too good of a deal to pass up, and I can't just cancel because I used $200 in gift cards and rewards certs.

Really? Maybe it was the "Save $20 on 3 4K blu rays" promo that myrewards certs can't stack on then. When I tried to use my $5 rewards cert it took everything back to regular price.

Good to know moving forward. I'll go back and edit the PSA

Its all good I guess I misread the certificates thing and thought it said preorders instead.

I'm really struggling between the Samsung 8000 vs 8500. For those with curved screens, how's the picture for people not looking directly at the screen in the center? My concern is that it won't look as good for people on the outside if we we're watching something with a few people over.

My recommendation would be to walk in a Best Buy and see for yourself, because that's not an easy question to answer over the Internet.

I had an 8000 and I had intermittent judder every 1 to 2 minutes that was really bothering me. I also noticed that I had the back panel separation issue that many have mentioned that drove me nuts. I returned the 8000. I picked up an 8500 over this past weekend as I read that the back panel issues in the 8000 were not present in the 8500. I also read that a recent firmware update addressed the judder issues. I have had the 8500 since Friday and there are no back panel issues so far and no intermittent judder.

To answer your question, I think the viewing angles on both tvs are just about the same, if not better on the 8500 with the slight curve. My adjustment now is getting used to the curve as it certainly adds a little more depth to the picture, but not to the degree of 3D or anything like that. They are very similar tvs otherwise and I'm guessing the newest firmware patch fixed the intermittent judder issues on the 8000 as well.

The viewing angle will be good up to 20 degrees on both sets according to rtings

What I've learned in the past is the Black Friday price is typically the "new" price of that item going forward, at least with hone theatre stuff. Not so much for video games and consoles.
