Re: LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread

Wondering if there's updated testing done on the LG B6 series of TVs as far as input lag goes. Can get a great deal on it up here in Canada on the 55" ($2299 as opposed to the $2999 it's been discounted to everywhere else recently) but I don't think I can do 60+ ms of input lag with as many shooters as I play.

I could always just switch to 1080p and on Game Mode for any competitive play I do....but I'd prefer not to do that. After going back and forth I really would like to get the OLED screen over anything else out right now but just not sure about the input lag numbers.

$2000 plus taxes a couple of months back. Then I went back a month later when the tv dropped to $1800 and got a $200 credit.

Re: LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread

I was planning on waiting until next Friday when I get my Christmas bonus to buy the 55" ks8000, but this scared me so I decided to go ahead and go ahead and order it today. My store was actually sold out yesterday, but I guess they got a shipment in because it was available for pickup today. I'm hoping to get it on my lunch break, but I don't know if they can get it ready in two hours. My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague

Re: LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread

I'm looking at the 65" ks8000 as well. Seems to be the consensus best all-around 4k tv outside of going oled.

I was looking at the vizio p65, which is a touch better for movies, but had significantly more hdr gaming lag.

I have a 55" samsung 1080p led thin tv, I'm wondering if it's worth selling online...

But back to your point - Boxing day might be an option, and I don't know about the places where you guys live, but here there is another mini 'sale' season when the 'one of a kind' show comes to town...kind of like a homeshow type thing - they usually have crazy sales for a weekend in the feb/march zone - because for me TV purchases other than that have to happen on black friday/cyber monday or Boxing day. I wouldn't be able to stomach the fact that I paid over a grand more than if I bought during a sale.Liquor in the front, poker in the rear.Comment

Re: LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread

For all around I'd definitely recommend the 8000. That set will be significantly better than what Vizio has to offer. Keep in mind you're comparing Samsung's 3rd from the top set to Vizio's top set. I still think the 8000 is better than the P series.I'm looking at the 65" ks8000 as well. Seems to be the consensus best all-around 4k tv outside of going oled.

The Samsung is better. I had the Vizio P as well and returned it. Only one HDMI port has low input lag and that port doesn't do HDR. The other 4 ports do HDR but with very high input lag. Plus, the Vizio has issues with yellow banding. The picture is better on the Samsung too.

Just got my KS8000 55 inch set up last night. Spent some of today getting all my stuff hocked back up. Playing Rise of the Tomb raider right now. Thinking I will watch a bluray movie in a iittle bit.Comment
