4.4.4 gives you the full rgb color spectrum on screen, while 4.4.2 doesn't when a 4k signal is sent to the display.

When done right, this gives you much brighter colors while staying very accurate to the rgb color spectrum.

To normal people it's probably doesn't matter, but to videophiles its s different story

So when I'm sending a 4K signal from my PS4 Pro to my TV, should I be looking at the input lag numbers with 4:4:4? Or without?

I believe the pro uses 4.2.2 which is what I meant in my original post. Not 4.4.2

I wouldn't worry about it though. I just read no display does 4.4.4 at 10 bits due HDMI 2.0 limitations

You can get 4.2.2 with HDMI 2.0. And again we probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference or not care much if there is a difference because it's not a huge deal.

So don't sweat it and enjoy... [emoji106]

So right now I'm deciding between the KS8000 and the Vizio M series. Money isn't really an option but I'd like to keep it around that price range. I was on Best Buy and was wondering how this compared to both of those two:

I might even be willing to go up to the 65" if this is a great TV for the price. Those three seem to be my best options. I'm mostly going to be doing 4K Streaming from Netflix and upscaling until the Scorpio comes out. Should I wait until next year when the Scorpio comes out?

Edit: I see this TV has HDR...http://www.bestbuy.com/site/samsung-...=5191800...how does this one rank? It's got very good ratings.

Go with the 8000, you'll be happier.

How future proof is it? I mean I can wait until next holiday season when I get a Scorpio and start playing games on that but I would love to watch Netflix on it in the mean time.

The Samsung KS8000 and KS9000 series are significantly better than the other TVs you mentioned. They are also very future proof, as future proof as technology gets these days anyway. If money isn't a determining factor, get the 55" or 65" KS8000 and you will have zero regrets.

That's good! But weren't the KS8000 cheaper for Black Friday? If it is like someone said, Black Friday is their new price, should I wait until Super Bowl season?

I think Scott mentioned it went up in price by $2 or something like that. You can always find reasons to wait when it comes to technology to be honest. Problem with that is there's always something better around the corner and you end up never pulling the trigger or never being satisfied with your choice.

If you have the money now, get the Samsung KS8000 and you'll be a happy camper.

See what price this link brings up for you straight from Samsung for that TV. Looks like it's $999 now for the 55".

https://www.retailmenot.com/out/8286075 - It should carry you on to Samsung.com

I completely forgot Panasonic left the TV game.

Besides the Kuros they made the best TVs for a long time. I had a panasonic plasma and it was a great tv..

I wonder if the B series will get that update too. I still feel next year should be the year since they'll also make HDR better by making the screens brighter reaching higher nits.
