I have the B7 as well. Sucks about the stuck pixel but have you tried a pixel flipper? As for banding, I don't see any on my TV.

What is a pixel flipper is?

And lucky you with the no banding. Maybe it’s my calibration settings. Any chance you can share yours?

There are two kinds of pixel flippers, one in video form and the other as an actual algorithm, but they both serve the same purpose. And before you ask, this process causes zero damage to your television.

Your television would basically just show every pixel on your screen flash and jumble a bunch of different colors very rapidly. Basically the snow static effect, but a lot smaller and other colors involved. The hope is that it can do things like relieve stubborn image retention (in case there is uneven wear of certain color and light intensities from logos, bars, etc.) or shake loose a "stuck" pixel.

You can find many video files of these online just by Googling it. However, if you have the Disney WOW Blu-ray disc, they actually have an algorithm on there that targets certain parts of your screen to try and work it even more efficiently.

If your pixel is truly dead, there's nothing this will do. If it is "stuck" though, there is a chance that through constant work it can maybe resolve itself. You might have to run it overnight and see what happens though.

          Thank you for this

The pixel is green so it sounds like, from my brief research, that it may just be stuck. I hear dead pixels are usually black.

I unfortunately don’t have a WOW disc, so I’m on the lookout for one online. If anyone has a recommendation or link, that would be appreciated.

I'm typically a Samsung guy (looking at the KS8000), but I really like the Sony 800e series.
I know floor models always have promo content running to really show off the set.
But this TV looks gorgeous. And it's on sale $1200 CDN in a nearby store.
Really tempted to get it. Especially since it's supposed to have wider viewing angles (it'll be placed in the corner of my TV room).

But rtings doesn't like it. Although, I've been noticing that their ratings don't always jive with what I like/dislike:

                55".

This TV is usually on display at Best Buy and it always looks gorgeous. So tempted to get it for Christmas.
I have an older, 52" Samsung Plasma with glass screen (10 years old) that I loved. I did research on that baby for 6 months before pulling the trigger and never looked back.
But now the blacks/grays are starting to wash and I'm seeing more DSE than I recall.
So I'm looking to replace it. Having a Smart TV would be nice too.

I’d say to go with the Samsung MU8000 instead since it’s 120hz.

It's time to upgrade our living room TV, and Christmas sales seem make this a great time to make the change.

Looking for something around 46-50". Current one is 42" LG. Also have a 46" Samsung in the rec room. Both are a number of years old, so I've been out of the loop since before 4K came around.

Not looking to spend $1k on a tv. Doesn't need to be the latest and greatest, but I want one that will last for a while. Use Vue, antenna and Netflix for watching shows. Wife is looking at door buster deals, but I'm wary of getting one of those. They are usually of a quality lower than what I want.

What are some recommendations and maybe some warnings on what is out there?

Not sure which I'm going to pick.
The Samsung MU8000 gets much better reviews for contrast, but poorer on angles.
The Sony x900e is considered better than the Samsung but is also poor on angles.
I may have to go with the x800e just because of how the tv will be positioned.
And I really can't afford a tv that does both well.

Doorbusters are usually black friday specially made TVs. You really just need to look at the model # and see if there are any existing reviews. If a TV has no reviews, and is $400 off, it was never that original price. A $200 4K TV is $200 for a reason and it will lack the features that make it worth upgrading.

Just play this on YouTube through whatever source you have (Smart HUB, Blu-ray player, Roku, etc):

                                <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/b5CE8TLZoyY" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

It's not equivalent to what the WOW pixel flipper's design is, but hopefully a remedy like this would help. Video only lasts ten minutes though.

When you run these things, make sure you're on the standard 60Hz refresh rate and at native screen resolution.
