Don’t over pay for HDMI cables. It’s the biggest scam. A digital signal is a digital signal.

Except if it’s not an HDMI with high speed Ethernet.

Yea but those you can still get cheap on monoprice or Amazon. No need to pay over $10 for any high speed HDMI cable.

Kenny: Ok Vic, I'm ready for some girl on girl action.
Vic: No Kenny, that's girl versus girl.
            Kenny: What's the difference?
Vic: Well, in one, one girl wins. In the other....
            Kenny: Everyone wins?!?!

Re: LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread

Picked up the LGC7 on Thursday. Great tv except that the picture goes dim in HDR Game Mode. A recent firmware supposedly fixes it. Can anyone please confirm? The update isn’t yet available for download via the tv and the manual update requires access to a Windows PC which I don’t currently have access to.

I want to love and keep this TV but the dim picture in HDR game mode is a game breaker. If the firmware fixes it, then great. If not, what is my next best option (with similar input lag in low 20s)?

              Thanks!

Do you play in game mode? For me it is most obvious in The Show where the images are just dull and dim. The Show looks great on my Samsung MU8000 that cost half as much 🤔.

I guess this is best thread to mention this since it relates to something that connects to a tv.

Been thinking of getting Chromecast (2nd gen, since I don't have 4ktv). Just making sure I understand it correctly. It's basically just a device to plug in to HDMI port to wirelessly play streaming apps from phone/tablet, using WiFi ?

Also, can it connect to laptop or mobile device to play videos or audio already on the device (like songs I bought, or videos I recorded? )

And anything else noteworthy it can be used for that I'm missing?

I bought the Vizio M55 about 8 months ago and it's worked fine for me. I still own it. I would say one thing about this set that could be inconvenient down the road is if you want to get over-the-air signals using a digital antenna. Because this unit doesn't have a tuner box, you would need to get both a tuner box and a digital antenna. As a cord cutter, this has limited my options somewhat.

As far as performance, it looks good. I'm not a huge videophile like some of the guys in here, but the only time I ever wonder about the 60 vs 120 Hz thing is when watching an NBA game (which I almost never do). I'm actually watching Star Wars: Rogue One on it right now and there's nothing at all weird or juddery about it that I can perceive.

On the plus side, deep blacks and a workman-like HDR color palette gives a great picture for something I bought for $600 or so. I don't see myself back in the market for a TV until 8K or 16K comes out probably, lol.

                          Excellent write up thanks.

I have cable at the moment so I would be fine in regards to the over the air signal.

Edit: I had a greater than expected Christmas haul so I got the 50 inch M series for 600 after tax.

That's it. During setup it will throw a code on the screen that you'll enter on your tablet/phone/pc. Then it's done.

If you have a Google Home you can pair them up to do voice commands to your tv.

What about playing non streaming video and music on it? Would that work too or is this just for things like Netflix, YouTube and so on?

Can you tell me what settings you're using on your B7 with your PS4 Pro? Just bought a B7 today and I'm picking it up later. I'm curious to see what kind of settings you had to change, if any, to get the best picture while gaming on a PS4 Pro. Thanks!
