Whats the big deal? I honetly can't understand why you are upset about this.

If there was a show about MMA and they said boxing was trash, I wouldn't care, its a show. I think its realistic that boxers would downplay MMA and MMA downplay boxing.

I'm not sure what I'm justifying. I don't get it.

This comment of yours still baffles me.

You're not going to watch Lights Out because someone made a disparaging comment about MMA?

Lastr night's episode was a bit of filler, but still very entertaining.

Light's wife is getting annoying, get in your man's corner or get out of the house.

Only a filler, because I was holding out hope that they'd get the "El Diablo" fight in. Still a good episode. I think I dislike the promoter more than I dislike Don King after the Douglas fight.

UPDATE: Interesting to hear about Johnny's boxing history. I gathered that he was a favorite for a Gold Medal, but an injury halted his amateur career and professional dreams. I wonder if we'll see Johnny (32 in real life) in his first pro fight? Hopefully in Season 2.

Apparantly he had all the skills. I'll have to go back and rewatch the fight in the parking lot with the Asian guy. It seems like he would have known that if he attacked the 1st guy, the MMA thug would jump in. Seems like he would have tried to be a little more technical to give him at least a chance to win.

He handled the Asian guy's martial art attack with ease. The MMA guy caught him off guard, but I didn't notice any frantic pleas from Johnny to take Light's place against Bas Rutten in the cage match.

Yeah he handled the Asian guy easily, but he had to know the goon would jump him.

I have to rewatch it, but I guess my point would be, if I was a Top level boxer, my thought would be, I have a decent chance againt 2 guys as long as they don't have weapons. I would position myself so I didn't intentionally turn my back on the goon.

And you are also right, Johnny was dead anyway, why didn't he just fight the MMA guy to the death. But I guess only Lights had the money backing him, Johnny had nothing.

Well, the MMA guy got a free punch to the gut, Johnny missed with a right hand that MMA Guy countered with a grab and a throw to the ground. The fight basically happened and in the Lights Out world Johnny didn't have a chance in a second fight.

Still can't understand why Lights Out isn't performing better on the "macho" FX network.

Because all the MMA fans stomped their feet and left the room.

I am an MMA fan, but I absolutely love this show. It is well done and you feel emotional ties to Lights and his family. Have they said if were going to get a season 2 yet, which I hope we do.

                          I'm still watching too.

And a second season is pretty unlikely given the poor ratings.

Probably no chance. But its the best show on TV right now for me, so its a shame.

Chances are, if its a drama, and its decent, and it doesn't have cops in it, its doomed.

I may be the curse, If I like it, its cancelled after 1 season, if it even makes it that far.

Really hope FX doesn't kill this and "Terriers" within the same year. So upsetting!
