I will be dropping streaming from my service immediately until I catch up on some of the movies and shows that aren't currently available for streaming. After that, I'll switch back to streaming, eliminate dvd's, and use Redbox.

I'm trying the one week free trial for Hulu Plus & half the stuff my wife wanted to see is web only. Meaning that they arent allowed to stream on TV, only PC. It did freeze on me a few times & a few times the show just froze to buffer. Kinda lame but there are some great shows on it. Bad part is it streams in 720 only on PS3. Some of the older shows from back in the early 90s looked pretty bad. I'll give it the week but right now its not looking so hot.

Not only am I not cancelling I'm using the service far more than ever haha. No more sittin on that A-Team DVD for two weeks before watching it. Weeknight movies are back in the Chef's house to insure higher turnover!

Also (despite the ****ty UI on the PS3) I've been looking and found some good shows on instant streaming I've been checkin out.

Plus my wife found out that New Dog the bounty hunter shows have been added. Win for her.

This is one thing that I hoped is changed. I like the UI. I do not like that it is difficult to find every streaming movie/series. Typing out names of movies just to check on it is borderline ridiculous considering we're given so many options to begin with.

There should at least be an additional chart that categorizes movies alphabetically.

Or, still show us the "featured" Suspense/Thriller films and then allow us to click on it to bring up a window with every Suspense/Thriller or Kids Movie available to stream.

Most definitely. I've had it on my PS3 for less then a year and have gone through like 3 different user interfaces. It's crazy. The current one is probably my least favorite. The one you recall was the best. There's so much stuff on there I don't even know about but would probably find interesting.

So Hulu Plus is kind of a dud, eh? Not being able to view the new stuff on the PS3 is a dealbreaker for me.

They lowered the price to attract more customers and just like with all good things, they have to come to an end sometime.
It's not a big deal for me, I like the price drop. I don't do dvds, so its a saving for me and streaming is a steal price. If I really want a DVD, I will see it on my cable in demand station.

We cancelled ours. $16 to get one dvd at a time + streaming is not worth it.

Gonna stick with free hulu and get DVD's from the library.

16 is a lot just for the dvd and unless they do something about the shape of the dvd's, it won't be worth it at all.

I am though very happy with the streaming and the price.

I'm considering trying iTunes rentals as my alternative. I want a service that will let me load the movie or show I want to watch while I have my wifi connection at home for my iPad then watch it on the go. Netflix obviously doesnt offer this so I was getting ready to dump them before the price increase anyway.

I can't see Netflix making this move without some future plans to introduce more availability on the streaming front. They must have some plans with a major industry.

Stream only after the bump in price for me. I have only rented 1 dvd since I've had the service about a year.

Starz is pulling their movies from Netflix streaming at the beginning of the year. Maybe partly motivated by the price hike.

The news came the same day that an unpopular Netflix price hike of as much as $6 per month took effect. The breakdown with Starz was a surprise because investors had expected the parties to reach a deal, said Brett Harriss, an analyst with Gabelli & Co.

"Netflix just effectively raised prices by 60 percent, and a big chunk of their content walked away," Harriss said.
