It depends on if it's just unintelligible guttural noises, or if you can actually understand what's being said. I don't mind screaming, as long as there is still something to be said with it.

For me, it's 311 (hence the name). Seen them 11 times, and I've never been disappointed. I've never seen a band that's been able to read, and react, to a crowd like they do.

I like 311 quite a bit but I've never seen them live.

What are people's opinions here on Green Day? I grew up listening to Dookie, Nimrod, and Imsomniac and dug Warning. Then American Idiot came out, which I really liked at first but then they got so overpopular and people started to hate them. I like their newer albums I just don't think they compare to those earlier albums. I've seen them live twice and they put on a hell of a show, even though they aren't necessarily one of the most talented bands out there.

Dookie is one of my favorite albums ever. Everything else is alright, but that album is still a great listen.

Billie Joe is the only reason I'm not a bigger fan. Every interview I read with him, he comes off like a douchebag.

I've always liked Nimrod the best, but Dookie is still excellent.

In terms of the big "punk is not dead" albums in 1994, I always liked The Offspring's Smash the best, but Rancid "... And Out Come The Wolves" and "Dookie" were also solid.

I'm like you in that I like Nimrod and Dookie but not the newer stuff so much.

Anyone have any tips for some rock / rap combo acts kinda like Rage Against the Machine (pretty much my favourite band of all time)?

Dave Grohl is the man, just to clarify if anyone did not know. The Foo put on a concert for the ages. Over 3 hours long!
Wait, the Foo Fighters played for 3 hours on their own? Or both bands combined?

....anyway, the best pure SHOW--as in "spectacle"---I've ever been to was Rammstein this past May. Simply amazing.

As far as my favorite shows? Probably one of the many Bad Religion concerts I've been to. They had one a couple years ago where it was focused on the albums from 1988-1990, so that was perfection.

Soundgarden was pretty badass when I saw them in July. Probably one of the best straight up rock concerts I've been to.

Other favorites would include The White Stripes, Black Keys, and the Drive-By Truckers.

Haven't seen them mentioned but Avenged Sevenfold's album Nightmare is great from beginning to end.

Also, Disturbed as a whole is fantastic. Can't wait for a greatest hits compilation.

Can't agree more about Green Day putting on the best show. I went with the gf (Huge GD fan) to one of their concerts last year and it was seriously amazing. I don't really even care for their (it's?) music, but they did put on the show I've ever seen.

On their own. Though, they did have a break where it seemed as if the show was over but they came back out to play 7 more songs.

And Out Come the Wolves was in '95. Let's Go was in '94, and that's still one of my top five favorite records to listen to.

Nightmare is better than their Self Titled album, and maybe Sounding the Seventh Trumpet. But nothing of theirs can ever top their albums Waking The Fallen and City of Evil.

Limp Bizkit? hahaha no just kidding. Check out the group Quarashi. They were from Iceland but broke up a few years ago.
