Not many bands come here either, but I'm not a concert goer anyway. Kid Rock was just in town for a couple days to film a video, though.

Re: Official Rock music thread
Yep. I'm dying to go. Tickets are going to be 45 bucks through Ticketmaster after fees and such. That's not "expensive", but being out of work right now I shouldn't be spending 45 bucks on tickets to anything.Comment

Been on a wicked Hurt kick lately. I go back to them rather often, and everytime I do, it's all I listen to for a month. You guys really need to give them a listen if you haven't. Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 are phenomenal.

Volume 2 is one of my favorite albums ever. So underrated.
Lately I've been getting into Volbeat. I don't think they've had much mainstream success, but a local rock station here is in love with them and they've really grown on me. They're unique.
I've also started to like Aranda alot, although their latest single leaves alot to be desired. I saw them at the beginning of the year and they're just fun live.
I'll admit I've gotten lazy on finding new music. I've been sticking to what I have, and despite hating about 85% of the new stuff on the radio, I've been relying on it to find my new music. I need to break out of that habit.Co-Commish of the OS Vets I & II

Looks like the three-day pass is sold out, and so is Friday. Saturday and Sunday both have tickets, and KROQ has a contest to win free three-day passes. I'm definitely going Sunday now, but not sure about the others yet.Through music, you can live forever...TEAMS: San Diego Chargers, San Diego Padres, Notre Dame Fighting IrishComment

Re: Official Rock music thread
One of the more underrated bands from the 70s, IMO:

Re: Official Rock music thread
Hurt is really good. Had the fortune of seeing them perform a couple years ago. However, I hate "Goodbye to the Machine." They could've done so much better with that album.
I can't believe nobody mentioned this, but Megadeth released their 13th album last week. It's really good, although most of the songs were B-sides for other albums.Alabama Crimson Tide
New Orleans Saints
Kyle Busch #18
Atlanta Braves
Southern Miss Golden Eagles

I don't hate GTTM, but yeah, it could have been way better. Best part of the album was the unlisted track "Flowers".Comment

The opening acts - Joy Formidable and Social Distortion - were really good as well. A solid five hours of live music in a packed house, quite a night.Comment

I'm not sure about underrated, though. Heck, everyone I knew in HS loved them, I think they might go under the radar because they were female rockers, unheard of back then.Comment
