Yes, the concert was amazing and yes, the first encore song was Fortress. I've seen AB's live DVDs, but trust me, those don't even come close to doing them justice. If you're any kind of rock fan, you owe it to yourself to go see Alter Bridge at some point. I'm blown away.

I was in the ballpark, lol.
Heavy metal mainstays Judas Priest have released their first new music in six years, the charging title track of their 17th album Redeemer of Souls, due out July 15th. Frontman Rob Halford told Rolling Stone earlier this year that the album will be a "very heavy record." The track is the first new music they've released since guitarist Richie Faulkner joined their lineup – following the departure of founding guitarist K.K. Downing in 2011 – as well as the first since releasing the 2008 concept album Nostradamus. "It's gonna be a great moment for Priest and for metal, hopefully," Halford said.

Re: Official Rock music thread
Page not found, but I believe you because they released a song on itunes I heard. I wonder if it's all the same original members because I thought one of the guitarists quit or retired from the band. I'm thinking JJ Dowling or something like that.

Re: Official Rock music thread
Haven't posted in this thread much lately, but I do have one or two things to share. For those of you who like Alt Country/Country-Rock, what have you, Old 97s dropped a new album called Most Messed Up. You can listen to it here. From what I've heard (the first few tracks) it's pretty solid, a bit NSFW though so don't be blasting it in your cubicle.http://www.theatlantic.com/entertain...ld-97s/360999/
Second being Beware of Darkness. I realize their album (Orthodox) came out a year ago, but it wasn't until I heard All Who Remain that I gave it a shot. It's a solid up and down album, IMO, but All Who Remain is still by far my favorite track. For those of you who haven't heard it:

NFL: Philadelphia Eagles
NBA: Chicago Bulls, Minnesota Timberwolves
European Football: Manchester United, Brighton & Hove Albion
NCAA: UNI Panthers, Iowa Hawkeyes

Re: Official Rock music thread
For some reason, I never got into Story of the Year besides Page Avenue album, which is a classic of the gene (punk/rock/post hardcore). My new manager at work told me to put them on yesterday because they were his favorite band in the past... Thank goodness. Great stuff.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers
NFL - Buffalo Bills
MLB - Cincinnati Reds

Re: Official Rock music thread
So one of my favorite smaller bands, On My Honor, has launched an indiegogo to fund repairs to their touring van and book a summer tour. They'll be supporting Hawthorne Heights' "The Silence in Black & White" tour in a week.
I think they've got great and important music that should continue to be made. I went for the $20 Tshirt contribution and I feel good.
If you wanna listen, check out their bandcamp. And here's the link to the donation page: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/on-my-honorNHL - Philadelphia Flyers

Re: Official Rock music thread
Ace Spaceman Freely returns July 8th.
He has a song out called Gimme A Feeling that is being streamed. NSFW at the end of the song, I love the solos in this song, and Ace isn't the greatest singer in the world, but one of the better guitarist.

Re: Official Rock music thread
I enjoyed Blunderbuss, but it felt like a project record. Lazaretto has a very nice flow throughout and he did a good job of intertwining all the different styles.

Re: Official Rock music thread
Came here to post this... I knew a new album would be out this year, but was pleasantly surprised that it's going to be July. This is the only politics I like hearing about. Not the biggest fan of this song though. Had to watch the lyric video to figure out what he was saying half of the time.Comment
