Re: The Audiophile Thread
There's nothing wrong with it per se. But with the Sony player I feel like you get a better HDR performance, it will also have better smart features than the Xbox One S has.

Re: The Audiophile Thread
Just wondering how many of you guys use a wireless solution to your home theater set up? I am looking to do the same, but wondering what the best way to go about it is. Currently I have the standard 3 fronts and 2 rears...all wired. I don't mind the fronts being wired as wires are short and cannot be seen.
Is there a way to incorporate wireless rears into a solution like this, or you pretty much have to go wireless soundbar, wireless fronts, etc?
Thanks for any help...

They make some kits to make your rears wireless.

Re: The Audiophile Thread
do any of you guys have a McIntosh set up? Even if you dont, what elements would I need for a home theater type set up? They have amps, pre amps, all these different pieces of equipment, and its geared for people who know about that stuff, so its not informative on their website.Comment

Re: The Audiophile Thread
Well that's what I'm trying to figure out, I'm trying to see what I would actually have to buy. All I see online is like 100k systems, but as far as a home theater setup do I need amps and pre amps and all that?
I don't think I'll ever afford new stuff but I also don't have a good idea of what I'm looking at to purchase

You'll need an amp plus preamp/processor

Re: The Audiophile Thread
Just ordered two JBL soundbars: SB450 and SB250. I don't have too many options so these seem to be the best reviewed for my price range.
The 450 will be for my living room tv and the other for my computer desk.
Does anyone have experience with JBL soundbars?Comment

Re: The Audiophile Thread
I drilled a small hole in the floor behind my receiver and ran the wires down across the basement ceiling. Then drilled a small hole under each of my rear speaker stands and ran the wire up to the speakers. Don't know if this is an option but it costs nothing.Just wondering how many of you guys use a wireless solution to your home theater set up? Re: The Audiophile Thread
I've been reading through this thread and it appears I may have my system connected incorrectly. I'm not really very tech smart so I'll do my best explaining it.
my components consist of:
Denon AVR S510BT receiver
Directv DVR
PS4
PS4 Pro
PS3
Xbox one
My TV is a Vizio M series 60" 4K Ultra. It's the 2015 model I bought last year. It does not support HDR. At the time I bought it I had no idea what HDR was, it was on sale so I grabbed it.
Currently I have my PS4 , Xbox one , and Directv connected to the HDCP2.2 4k pass through on my denon receiver then sent to my TV HDMI input 4 - 4K @30hz. My PS4 Pro I sent directly to my TV to HDMI input 5 - 4K @60hz 1080p and higher.
My question is should I connect the Pro to my denon receiver and send the output from that to HDMI 5 on my TV? I'm not really using the regular PS4 so i can give the Pro that input. ThanksComment

Re: The Audiophile Thread
Looking to get decent bluetooth speakers for a gift, mainly on Amazon. Searching through Amazon, there are literally thousands of results that come up under that category. Spending limit would be around $30(Canadian, so around $25 US).
I've seen many on Amazon under that price that have gotten at least 4 stars, but hard to decide between them and I don't know all features to look for to see which one would be the better choice. At very minimum, I'd want one with great battery life. I've seen many being waterproof, which won't factor into my decision.
Any suggestions?Last edited by Majingir; 11-12-2017, 10:46 AM.Comment
