I’ve had my Photive Hydra for so long. It’s mainly my shower speaker and it’s probably my most reliable electronic I have.

It is an abused product. Dropped all the time, in the rain, at the beach, the dog got a hold of it a couple times and it’s still going perfectly. I probably charge it a couple times a month. Amazing battery and forgot to mention the sound is great. It’s a little over your budget but it will be a long time product for you.

I've had the same one since you recommended it to me last year. It's a great speaker and the battery life is almost infinite. I haven't had it out in the rain much, but it's completely unfazed by everything.

Don't think I can get that one in Canada. But from seeing the Amazon page, it says it has 8hr life with a single charge.

This one I found says 10hr life.

        This one is 12hr:

Just quick ones I found, but what do people think of those?

Those seem fine and the reviews are good.

Have you considered the mini google home speaker? I been using it at cousins house and has a couple of them in the house. I think it works very well and the sound is pretty good and connect to it via Bluetooth.

It’s a 50 bucks but it’s well worth the money for what it does and you can build up a smart home system.

Not looking at getting google home stuff right now, maybe next year or something at earliest(unless someone gets me it for Christmas).

2 more I found have real long playtimes, I just hope I'm not overlooking other features when only focusing on playtimes:

33ft range and 20 hour playtime

66ft range and 60 hour playtime(sounds too good to be true)

Just picked up some Bowers & Wilkins PX headphones, loving the quality so far.

I might change my mind after all. Black Friday sale has the speakers half off.

Don't know much about it though. Besides just being Bluetooth speaker, what else can it do?

Could anyone tell me if this is a good portable speaker ? Looking for something I could take to work with me to stream sports via Bluetooth in an area that can get noisy and also to use at home for parties. I'd prefer one that could keep my phone charged at the same time.

It’s easier to do the right thing, than to explain why you didn’t.

Let me preface this by saying I am a novice with surround sound systems. But not when it comes to other aspects of tech.

With that said, I'm needing some help on my man cave. I have three TVs on a wall with multiple HDMI inputs for each TV. I do not have a need to switch the inputs around.

For example TV on the left has cable box, TV in the middle has PS4, 360, etc. TV on the right has chromecast.

I'd like to get a surround sound system but have the option to choose which TV is being outputted on the speaker system.

Is this possible? What equipment would I need?

It’s definitely possible, but probably not gonna be cheap.

Yes possible. Cheapest way is to get a mixer like studios/DJs use but sound quality won't be great (stereo vs surround).

More conventional method is to get a good quality receiver with a lot of inputs. You would need several audio inputs for this that can be user configured. A lot of the higher tier receivers can do this. You then have to set input settings on the receiver and then use HDMI-CEC or Toslink or Coax Optical out on each TV to the receiver. Again, you would need many audio inputs....

I havent been in the market for receivers in a long time, but the one I use is very capable - i.e. Marantz SR6006. It carries a much heftier price than the stuff you find at most stores though ~$1200.

Oh, and then once you get your receiver, you'll need speakers too.

My father-in-law needs a bluetooth speaker for the garage. I'm trying to decide if the Hydra will be "enough" or if I should step up to the Photive M90. Photive M90.

No I haven’t, but I wouldn’t hesitate to get one from them again once the battery dies out.

The bose water proof speakers though I tested for sound and wow those sound amazing. Pretty expensive but if you want quality sound that’s what I would get next time even the mini one was great

So I'm not an audiophile or anything, but I just got a Sonos soundbar and subwoofer for Christmas, which is replacing a Vizio soundbar and subwoofer...oh my God I feel like I've been missing out on so much! The sound clarity and booming bass is insane.

I might have to upgrade to that M90 I got him. The thing is huge - roughly triple or more the size of the Hydra plus hands free features for calls. I was legit jealous while I was wrapping it haha.
