    Re: Android Tablet Thread

Well those arent really laptops they're 2 in 1's so you can use it either way. I'd say the keyboard is an accessory plus if you want to use it.

Anyway, another thing to consider I guess is to make sure which one you get, you can get those android system updates when they come. So im saying check out what kind of support the products get.

I have no issue with Toshiba.. I was seeing that too over the holidays and I have no idea whats up with them but they've fallen off for some reason. Seeing it now, I have no idea how the price dropped like that over the past couple of weeks...and it may be just that, I never really hear people talk about their products, tvs or anything anymore, and I have no idea why.

I don't think it would give you any issues. I have a Dell 8 inch tablet, and I use it every night with no issues at all, so I don't see why that one wouldn't be ok.... well actually

With their little warning down below I wouldn't bother with it right now.

I have a Toshiba laptop and it's been pretty good except I got a black screen one time and had to restore the whole damn thing. Other than that its been excellent.

How do you feel about referbs? I can get an iPad mini 2 on ebay for $249 reberbed.

I honestly don't have an issue with them especially when you get a warranty, they're practically new IMO.

I would've gotten one myself, and was close on the day after christmas but the store line was like a freaking big game midnight release at gamestop so I had to leave lol.

When you do buy, are you gonna be like "I should've gotten the ipad" or "I should've gotten that windows tab, or I should've gotten that andriod tab.

You arent going to do this again next month man so get what you want.

Yeah, I gotta make sure I get the right one. In a perfect world I would just get the iPad Air and be happy, but its too expensive. I'm just not sure if I would like a Windows tablet. I think Its gotta be an iPad or Android.

            Re: Android Tablet Thread

Well a windows tab is the same as having a computer with windows 8 on it. Its the same thing on a tablet and its touch screen.

Im sure there are more but more expensive for whatever reasons like the Samsung galaxy and Samsung Note tablets.

If you're willing just save up a couple more hundred man and get what you really want.

Otherwise you have a few options already out there that aren't too bad. The reason I'll just wait is because I basically have a tablet and ill be ok if I dont get a new one at the moment, but I did want an ipad to work with my apple tv so eventually Ill get it, and i want a windows tab too so I can share with the kids for homework and whatnot so they can stay away from my PC. They've broken 3 laptops I've given them and I have no idea how, but in this case it would be very convenient for them for homework and surfing.

So its up to what you really really want. Man I'll say get what will make you the happiest because you won't be looking to get another after that.

I haven't tested out a windows tablet but can it really compare to the powerhouse apps that Android and Apple have?

I'm in the market for a tablet too and have been leaning on Ipad air 2 because of the build quality, but also looked in a Galaxy Tab S. I only really need for business operations so i don't need a lot of memory.

But i'm gonna buy a number old ones to use for clocking in employees and checking guest in at my resort.

If you want a tablet for Apps then a Window's tablet is NOT the way to go.

The windows store is atrocious compared to the others to be honest. I would say that would be the worst of the 3 if that's what you plan on using the most.

Buying a Windows tablet would be the same as buying a Windows Phone, not smart. They have such low market share for a reason.

I'm on my 2nd nexus 7 and bought a yoga 2 pro Windows 2 in 1 over the holidays. I still use the Nexus five times as much as I do the yoga.

I think I've narrowed it down to the Samsung Galaxy tab 4 8.0 or the kindle fire hdx 7.

Amazon has the kindle for $179 right now. It's a little smaller than I want but people seem to like the 7 inch tablets.

I got the Kindle Fire HDX 7". I didn't want to go that small, but it was on sale and has fantastic reviews. I'm pretty sure I'll like it.

I like my HDX 7, I wasn't big on getting one but I wanted to use amazon kindle free books for prime members. So I ended up getting it and now I use it a ton when I travel so I don't need to get my laptop out if I'm not doing work stuff.

1 thing I don't like is the google apps not always working and the steps you have to take to install them. Most apps work, but you need to download a 3rd party tool to download the apps.

Though its not a tablet, i'll put this here. Anyone use chrome books? They seem to be what I need to run my business and I won't freak out as much breaking or losing an ipad. I'll mainly using it as front desk computers

I used them at work but it was mainly kids testing on them for state exams.

Theyre pretty basic though...and unless you plan on using things like google docs and such online all the time I'm not sure why you'd want a stripped down laptop beyond pricing.

I ended up getting a 10 inch asus windows 8 tablet.

Its basically a mini pc..well for me since my pc has windows 8 as well...its the exact same thing only i can disconnect the tablet from the keyboard and just use the tablet itself. I hear the store has improved but i havent bothered to check.

Waiting to see how windows 10 goes before trying to upgrade it..but as is I'm good.
