Started watching Colony this week. I'm not sure if I like it or not yet, because I've been having it on 'in the background' instead of paying close attention...can be hard to judge on this basis. I will say that it definitely seems watchable.

The Walking Dead fans might also agree with me that Sarah Wayne Callies isn't too hard on the eyes either.

In the final analysis, I didn't really like this show. Gave up on it early in season 3 (right about when they get "Johnny 5" to start spinning some sort of narrative, realizing the show had spent 2 years chasing its tail). I feel like Colony suffers from some of the same stuff that made me dislike The Walking Dead after

Jon Bernthal's character got killed off.

Namely, bad dialogue and writing. Extra characters that don't matter. Deus ex machina and muddled character motivations. In retrospect, it's almost like Colony was an attempt at changing out an ill-defined biological menace in a post-apocalyptic world for an ill-defined technological menace in a post-apocalyptic world. Too bad, because it could have been a pretty interesting premise if approached in a different way.

This is probably for the best because I heard the show was canceled with really no attempt at a finale.

What's good to watch on Netflix

Really enjoyed Messiah. Hopefully this show sticks, gotta know what happens next!

Also finished Locke and Key. Enjoyed this one too, not as much as Messiah but it’s pretty fun but wished they explored the horror stuff more.

Yeah, that was mentioned in The Better Call Saul thread. I already re-watched it.

I saw an interview with Odenkirk, Rhea Seahorn, and Jonathan Banks that summarized the upcoming season as more fast-paced and violent.

Better Call Saul shows up the same day or next day after it airs on Netflix international so you can vpn and catch it new if you don’t have amc.

Only 4-5 more episodes and I'll be caught up on Schitt's Creek ready for the release of S6

David is one of my favorite characters of all time

That show is hilarious. I use to watch Catherine O'Hara & Eugene Levy (Mom and Dad Rose) on SCTV in the '80s. I'm almost done with season 3.

EDIT: If I don't hear of the final season (6) coming out on Netflix soon I'm going to buy it on Amazon mid-March which would put it right at the series finale.

It's low budget and it's a little odd, but I like Ragnarok. It's an interesting take on telling Norse mythology in the modern world.

Narcos Mexico has been pretty stellar so far. Just finished season 1 which focused on both drug kingpin El Padrino (acted by Diego Luna) and DEA agent Kiki Camarena (acted by Michael Pena). I thought both male leads were fantastic. I don't think I've ever seen Diego Luna act his balls off quite like this before--the difference between him acting in his native language vs in somewhat stilted English is very striking. He's really paying subtle homage to Al Pacino's Godfather in his own unique way.

The final episode of season 1 is really a gut churner.

Some of the supporting actors are outstanding as well. Joaquin Cosio as Ernesto 'Don Neto" Fonseca Carrillo and Tenoch Huerta as Rafael Caro Quintero both did fantastic work.

Highly highly recommended.

The Pharmacist is another limited docu-series and is really well done. It certainly hits home with me coming for an area that had a real drug problem. Mr. Schneider is something else, man. We need more people like him.

We've gone through some of the Netflix comedy specials: Ellen's Relatable, some John Mulaney, and have more in our queue. YMMV, but I would love for them to ramp up this part of their service even more.
