HotD is off to a great start. Loved the prologue approach.

The cast is excellent. I had no idea they brought Graham McTavish onboard.

I watched the Teo story as well. Based on what I was reading here and elsewhere, I gave it a go.

I truly feel for him. Especially at the end when you see the emotional impact it made on him. I truly believe he was just a naive, caring, and kind person who had no idea people could literally do something like that. And this: we can't watch this through what we know the lens of current social media is - you have to recognize that years ago it was a new thing. To recognize someone could do that to another human being. Just unreal. When he spoke of his first game with the Chargers - what he was going through - the fear of needing to be perfect and not make mistakes - yeah, that was crushing to watch.

After finishing up The Expanse a while ago, got that sci-fi bug again. Never got into Battlestar Galactica when it was first airing, the 2004 series.

It's on Peacock+ but it looks like Comcast users get it for free. Look forward to starting the binge all over again

            So say we all!

The Old Man really and truly made that show. Other characters were also great, but Edward James Olmos just nailed it.

Highly highly recommend for anyone who likes sci Fi, drama, action. Though the later seasons did get a bit weird.

I’m really enjoying Only Murders in the Building. It’s an Emmy worthy show and becoming one of my favorites of the year.

It stars Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez. I thought what a weird trio but they are great together, I would say a brilliant casting.

It’s a murder mystery comedy and I think the writing and acting is great.

Re: What's good to watch on Netflix And Other Streaming Platforms

I saw PREY on HULU and I love the Predator movies so I added it to my list. I started watching two or three times but quit because I just couldn't get into it.

However, I knew the movie was reviewed really high and so I tried again last night and finally got interested.. and WOW, OMG WOW.........

This is, in my opinion, the best Predator movie. That is including the original Arnie one. This movie is so d***** good that it reminds me why I spend all this time slogging around in all the worthless movies on streaming.

When I was watching this I was just like a little kid....then I started thinking, WHY CAN'T ALL MOVIES BE THIS SKILLFULLY PUT TOGETHER, SKILLFULLY ACTED AND...........SO FREAKIN' AWESOME??

OMG the Predator fights a Grizzly Bear. And yes it's as awesome as you might think. Probably even more so.

I can't recommend this movie enough. Yes it's a bit slow at the start..fight through it, it is well worth it.

I don't get emotional much at all, esp not movies but I was actually yelling for that girl in this movie when she and the other Native Americans were engaged with the Predator.

Just go watch it, you will not be sorry. This movie is one of the best action movies I've seen in years.

NOTE: what is so crazy about this movie, that's so well done, is that despite it being filled with special effects with the Predator and all, it seems to somehow look very real in just about every scene.

Whomever did the special effects for this movie needs to win a Grammy or whatever award they give out for special effects works.

Ok, I know what we're watching Saturday night

I wanted to comment to your first paragraph...

Numerous shows/movies have been false starts for us, most recently Stranger Things. I commented how we just couldn't get into ST and those we commented this to were aghast. What I noticed on every single show I couldn't get into was being on my phone while trying to watch the show while being on my phone. I have been making a deliberate effort to give my whole focus on the show and boy does that make a difference. And holy cow is Stranger Things awesome, man we were almost missing out on a pretty fun experience.

Not saying this was the case for you but I'll be sure to give Prey the full attention and looking forward to it.

                      Seriously Prey was fn dope!!!

I couldn’t get into the English version so switched it to the Comanche version and it was much better.(just search Prey and you’ll see both versions, it’s not an option on the English version)

It’s a dub so some of is a little out of sync but not too bad. That’s pretty much the only mistake this movie did and not film it in Comanche imo.

They need to do this again but in different time periods like the Samurai/Ninja era in Japan or against Vikings, Mongols.

So excited that this franchise is relaunched right. Run it back!

This guy Nathan Fielder...freaking GENIUS in the vein of Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld. Less observational humor though and more "think outside the box" sort of humor...

If you like dry, sarcastic wit, like say..The Office (the original one, not the American version) that can be sort of tough and awkward to sit through, then this is a show you absolutely must see.

With that being said, I consider Nathan a genius, my wife says it's all just a bunch of nonsense and he is a total idiot. So folks seem to either love or hate the guy.

Personally I will say he is absolutely, no question, one of the smartest and best comedians alive today...and unique to boot, which is hard to do in the field of comedy. I've honestly never saw anyone with such dry, sarcastic, warped and strange, but smart, way of looking at things and asking questions.

EDIT: Just to add, the humor is so dry it took me to near the end of the first episode to get that it was in fact even humor...then as I realized what was going on, and was in on the joke, then I started to wonder who on screen was also along for the ride or was really buying into all this or..........maybe both??? It's the strangest most bizarre comedy I think I've seen in my adult life... A must see and I can't believe more people aren't talking about it (I guess it goes back to above, a lot of people probably don't think like me and think this guy is just a total @sshat LOL)

Seriously, this is one the craziest shows I ever seen. It’s brilliant [emoji23].

For people that say there is no originality in Hollywood today are not looking hard enough.

Definitely not for everyone, probably the driest humor I ever seen [emoji23].

Wife totally didn’t get it either.

LOTR is exceptionally well made, and very well done.... but I don't see this having GoT type success for Amazon.

The story is not compelling enough to pull in new viewers.

When you really think about it, the first 2 episodes of most new shows be ho hum. I for one would have never thought Game of Thrones would have gotten as big as it did after their 1st season, let alone 1st 2 episodes. Same thing with The Sopranos. And when I think about all the half dozen Star Trek tv shows, their 1st 2 episodes, hell some of them their 1st 2 seasons I was waiting for them to get canceled, but over time. they got better in the later seasons.

TV shows are a tricky thing.
