Re: What's good to watch on Netflix And Other Streaming Platforms

I have loved every moment of the Last of Us. It's stuck close enough to the game to please everyone who played it while also appealing to everyone else that hasn't.

Last, I don't think the show or its producers fell trapped to anything even remotely considered woke. And if it had, so what? It's one thing to avoid liking something because it doesn't follow your narrow-minded outlook on life. Still, it's another to come on a public forum and post your opinion about the show's wokeness (a silly word that is as shallow as those who use it with ill intent) with your sole purpose being to draw differing opinions than yourself so that you can turn around and respond harshly to people on the internet to make yourself feel better about your [likely] own miserable life. That's far more pathetic than ever falling victim to the definition of being woke. I would dare say that would show signs of overcompensation for lack of other things in one's life that they could or should be proud of, also known as baiting or trolling, which are equally comparable to the bigotry displayed by someone that would ever do what I have described.

No one in this thread has done such a thing, but this would easily apply if they had.

An additional thought or two on TLOU...

Not knowing about will done with the coming seasons, I would have enjoyed an episode commitment to The Fireflies, Marlene, Tess, and even more attention on Anna (what was her story and who was the father; how close was she to Marlene).

As I commented in another post, the writers have shown their commitment to telling a good story, so further deep dives into influential characters and situation backstories would have been special.

Willow is canceled after 1 season. Not surprised because that show was bad. And next year will be the last season of Star Trek Discovery, it is also canceled. Not surprised because far as Star Trek shows go, it was kind of bad and didn't have that Trek feel at all.

Watched the first season or so of Discovery couldn't take it anymore. At least Picard has picked it up in this the final season. WTF happened to the Mandolorian?

Mandolorian been kind of off this season, giving off major Bobba Fett boring vibes. Like I know he doing 2 shows now, but good lord.

I only found out about Pascal from Narcos nothing before for me. Now I see him all over YouTube. He comes off as a really likeable dude.

Pascal was in Buffy The Vampire Slayer, several of the SVU Law & Order spin offs, The Kingsman, Wonder Woman 1984, The Equalizer 2, Nurse Jackie, The Good Wife and Game of Thrones. So I know him from that.

Anyway, episode 5 of Star Trek Picard is hands down the best episode in the history of Star Trek.

Come to think of it yeah he was in a bunch of stuff. Game of Thrones is the only thing I even vaguely remember him in though I watched nearly everything you just mentioned.

Watched the first episode of Cunk on Earth. Pretty funny, but a little tryhard. Even still, like Borat, the funniest moments are watching unsuspecting interviewee reactions to the title character portrayals.

I'm not necessarily the target audience, though. I don't always have a soft spot for comedy at the expense of verisimilitude. Either way, I'll finish the next four episodes in time and see how it evolves.

Man I thought you typed out Series Finale by mistake until I went on Google and read that Cranston pretty much confirmed that was it.

Disappointed but I can also understand it because I’m not sure how much more they could do. If that was the case

That would be my only beef but otherwise, I thought it ended on a good note.

Also, I just started up Mayor if Kingstown since Paramount+ has a free month trial. Only 3 episodes in but each one has pulled my interest in even further. Definitely enjoying it so far.

As you may know the show was originally intended to be a one and done mini-series. I'm not sure if they decided before or after full production that they were going for two seasons. I barely remember Maura Tierney doing a few episodes in season one, but it's been a couple of years since I saw it.

Mayor Of Kingstown didn't really bring me in after a handful of episodes but I might revisit it.

                            It's a shame Stand & Deliver isn't on a streaming platform.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.
